This superb place was one of several which had been recommended to me by a friend who lives nearby Bouzigues and who told me that this region is considered one of the best in all of France for its seafood and oysters. He was certainly not mistaken! We drove up on an extremely hot July day and chose Le Marin out of a selection of half a dozen places in Bouzigues all of which my friend had highly recommended. It had a terrace right opposite the sea, shaded by trees and awnings and we sat down and had one of the very best lunches we have ever had. We started with stuffed mussels, which were extraordinarily good, then proceeded to our second course of crisply breaded dab with various seasonal vegetables and fantastic ratatouille. We ended the meal with probably the very best coffee ice cream we have ever tasted! Do not miss eating here if you find yourself in Bouzigues!
We arrived just as they were closing for lunch but the waitress kindly took us in which we appreciated. We had the fixed price lunch and it was very good. So good that we returned the next day and had a gourmet seafood lunch along with a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. If you love seafood, especially oysters and mussels, then look no further. You can sit in the sunshine looking out at the oyster beds. What could be better? Very nice waitresses, excellent fresh seafood and a reasonable price. Happiness is..........
We ate at a different restaurant in this town last year and were very disappointed. Can't remember the name. Stopped by this time and took pot luck at Le Marin. Three of us had the 16.80 euro lunch and we all left happy. This made up for last years disappointment. Would easily recommend this restaurant.
Unlike some of the other restaurants by the marina, this by far the friendliest. The staff are attentive and charming, but not 'in your face'. The food is amazing, well presented and reasonably priced. Particularly the locally farmed Oysters, Monk Fish, and Scollops in a Chorizo sauce.
