We were really looking forward to having dinner at this restaurant because of the positive reviews, and the lovely location in the vineyards. However, the experience was extremely disappointing and even insulting. We had made reservations as a tour group from the California wine industry, and had pre-ordered the menu a month in advance. It was supposed to be a three course meal where everyone had multiple choices for each course. However, when we sat down, we were all served the same thing – a salad for entre, mashed potatoes and beef short rib for main plate, and floating island for dessert. When we complained, the manager said there was nothing he could do about it. Even worse, the wine we had ordered, which was supposed to be a pinot noir made from the vineyards around the restaurant never appeared. Instead we were served a flabby pinot with the label of a local Burgundy wine producer, but when you looked at the tiny writing on the back, the wine was actually a Vin de Pays d'Oc, from the Langeudoc region of France! When we complained and pointed out the wine was not even from Burgundy, they said there had been a mistake and brought us a cheap regional Bourgogne that was thin and acidic. This meal was also quite expensive too, and we had much better meals in the main part of Beaune for less during the week. Not sure what happened to this restaurant, but it seemed as if they were trying to fleece Americans. Very disappointing.
