I recently had an incredibly disappointing brunch experience at Le Salbuen. My husband and I visited with high hopes, but unfortunately, we were met with a series of mishaps that left us feeling neglected and frustrated. First and foremost, the most basic expectation of any dining establishment is to offer water to its patrons. Shockingly, Le Salbuen failed to provide us with water cups throughout our visit. The female host simply dropped off a water carafe at our table and that’s the last time we saw her. This lack of attention to such a basic need was both disappointing and concerning. I really wanted to like this place cause its cute and the ambiance was very nice but the server was a little rude. We got there and waited to be seated, she asked the party in front of us where they wanted to sit. For us was like, hey you can sit here. (Mind the place was empty cause it was still early) then another family came and she also asked them where they wanted to sit. We got no option. Then offered us tap water that tasted really bad. She took our order after a long wait and then when we were not even done eating she gave us the check. Two sided menu, the second being strictly dedicated to vegan/vegetarian. Contained endless (hard to choose) options for non-meat dishes. Started with a carrot salad, which upon first appearance looked like a plate of shredded carrots. The mint vinaigrette dressing really added the flavor with the craisins. The main course was braised tofu. The sauce was uniquely tasty. It was the consistency of pasta sauce, yet had a bbq flavor flair to it. The potatoes were toasted and a nice complement to tofu block. Wow what I wish to have not gone here at all. The food was not great at all. I had a torta chorizo on a bun . I receive 4 small pieces of chorizo not a patty like the name suggests it is. It was very bland aside from the chorizos which were not fresh. The cilantro lime sauce was almost non existent. My mom got the duck tacos with like 2 tbsp of duck meat on each taco and it was cold. My sister got a short rib sandwich on brioche and it was okay. The lemonade I got was room temperature which was not enjoyable on a hot day. We have visited Le Salbuen multiple times and consistently found the food, servers, and atmosphere to be excellent. However, our experience at the Father's Day brunch was disappointing. The food was much pricier than usual and the quality was mediocre at best. Our waitress failed to offer us a second cup of coffee and the sausage was burnt. We left feeling let down by the overall experience.
Beautiful cafe that offers a separate vegan/vegetarian menu. I had checked the menu on their website and was pleasantly surprised in person to find an expanded menu with delightful options. The grilled mushroom and tofu sandwich was amazing, definitely recommend. The cafe had a nice vibe and the staff was friendly, overall a great place for lunch or dinner!
Love it here! Everything on the menu is spectacular! The recipes they come up with are so healthy and incredibly flavorful! I have the vegan patty with curry fries on a bun with avocado and lettuce+tomato. It was sooooo good!!!! We go here whenever we are in town. The value and quality is also five stars!!!
What a lovely little cafe! Went for brunch today and had a lovely time with my grown children. My salmon was a little dry and I am recovering from cancer and don't have a normal amount of saliva so anything a little dry is hard for me to eat.
