On that day, everything went wrong as usual ... Or rather, everything was fine at first, my wife and I, traveling along Provence, reached the wonderful town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, wandered with pleasure along its picturesque streets. The breakfast time has already passed, but lunch time just came when we saw the restaurant L'Ecailler. It was necessary to have dinner, but ahead were Cord, Fontaine de Vaucluse and Lacoste. We moved further along the route and the result was lunch at a roadside cafe with a comprehensive lunch (((After inspecting the planned towns (all are beautiful!!!), we returned to L'Isle-sur-la-Surguie to have supper. We know that in France, usually dinner in restaurants...
Location is excellent. The trout were swimming in the stream 10 meters from my table but neither the chef nor the waiter could get the fish to my plate. My wife and I both ordered trout but the waiter only delivered one trout, after an extended wait, and explained he did not think my wife wanted any food when we inquired about her trout. I gave my trout to her and waited 1/2 hour for them to bring a second trout. After the meal, the waiter brought the water we had ordered when we sat down. I would like to say the trout was worth the wait but it was subpar as were the vegetables that accompanied it. I tried to ignore the slow service and carry on as if nothing had happened but simple inquires...
This place was already one of the best value in town, it's now something else. Firstable, the tables are now dressed with tablecloths. Secondable, the chef definitely improved himself by paying more attention to details ; maybe you'll wait a bit more but it's more than worthy !Finally, the service has also been upgraded, they're still excellent for wine advices but they're now able to fillet fishes before you share it with one or 3 persons...Very surprised to see a great place become better and better each year !Cheers :)Douglas
Quel déjeuner charmant nous avons eu hier ! À l'extérieur, sous un soleil d'été (en février), nous avons goûté les spécialités du restaurant telles que la Raviole de Gambas ou les Médaillons de Saumon fumés ! C'était délicat, élégant et surtout savoureux... c'est notre deuxième fois ici, et même si c'était déjà très bon, la nourriture s'améliore car ils portent une grande attention aux détails. Probablement le meilleur rapport qualité-prix en ville.

The location of the restaurant on the river is outstanding.The food is mainly seafood, but it does cater to other cuisines.The staff are friendly and obliging, and most efficient. They areknowledgable of every type of fish. We enjoyed it so much wereturned the next night, which was Bastille Day , and with all thecelebrations we had a marvellous night and another fantastic meal. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant to fellow travellers.
Un restaurant de fruits de mer populaire qui est à la hauteur de sa réputation. La terrasse extérieure donnant sur la rivière offre une expérience culinaire très agréable. Le personnel est efficace et serviable, et les plats de fruits de mer sont bien préparés et présentés. Les prix sont un peu élevés cependant.
This restaurant has a very pretty location right on the water. The menu is fish and sea food and we were pleased with our choices. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was adequate. Go for for the setting more than the food. Worth a visit though!
We chose this restaurant because of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, but the food was a total disappointment. As a main course, we had fish portions. My portion of fish was destroyed by too much frying and my partner's fish tasted bland.

The waitstaff was pleasant, helped with my limited French, awesome oysters, seafood special of he day, sole was terrific. Couldn't ask for a better lunch, the rose wine was crisp and perfect
Le personnel est impoli et arrogant. Certainement pas à la hauteur de sa réputation. Je ne comprends pas comment cet endroit a pu être classé 106, encore moins 6.
