I really can't say enough about this restaurant. It has recently (within the last 6 months or so) changed hands and as we loved this restaurant before, we were reluctant to try again. It surely couldn't be as good, the prices had to have gone up etc... but no! If anything it is even better. The menu is still the same: a choice of only two dishes for a starter, two dishes (one fish, one meat) for a main and no choice for dessert. I know, if you're used to having a large choice then this may sound a bit off putting, but really you should try it. The food is fabulous and either one of the choices are good. My husband chose the pork and rabbit which was amazing, as I had chosen a meat dish for the main, I stuck with fennel soup, which was very good, although I was definitely hankering after my husbands rabbit. Our main course was We have recommended this restaurant to our gite guests and every one of them has come back loving it. We will definitely be coming back. It is still our favourite restaurant of the region. Thank you.
This was an exceptional Lunch, from start to finish, a young couple who not only do all the cooking but serve as well. Their expertise and passion evident from the very first dish they serve and speak about. Each course was a discovery, known ingredients given a superb new approach with innovative use of herbs and spices which even I, as a former Chef and a Winemaker had a hard time to identify. The combinations were just addictive both in flavour and in aromas. Each plate was a visual feast also yet we all left with that wonderful satisfied feeling when one has partaken of a true expression of the Art of Cuisine. Service was warm and discrete. Surroundings were the same, very welcoming. Our first visit but definitely not out last and I can recommend this restaurant highly.
Having visited many many restaurants in the region, L’Envie des Mets is one of our favourites. The owners are both excellent chefs and having eaten here many times we have never had a disappointing lunch or dinner. The food is soooo tasty, the restaurant is charming, as are the owners. We can not recommend it highly enough.
