We arrived a little after lunchtime to be informed that the main kitchen was closed but the seafood buffet was still available, which was fine as all we wanted was some oysters and seafood and a glass of wine. So we took our table in the sunshine and ordered a bottle of wine and some water. The restaurant was not busy. After about 15 minutes the wine had still not arrived so my husband had to remind the waiter. We helped ourselves to the buffet which was ok, not spectacular. The restaurant has a cold buffet, you pay 29 euros and you get the seafood "all you can eat." So if you want to eat oysters till they pop out of your ears, this is the best place for you. I also like the other sorts of seafood so I had two sorts of snails, three sorts of crabs, oysters, some other shellfish; mainly things I can't even name in English. Having read the reviews after we had booked this hotel, we were a little anxious about what to expect, though our concerns were unfounded. You get what you pay for and this is not a 5* hotel, but we found it to be an extremely good 3* one as far as the accommodation and food were concerned. Having said that, we and our little dog received a 5* welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Service was good and the only criticism I had about the food was that there was too much. We came for the seafood and the ambience of Cancale, which we know well and were not disappointed. Would we stay here again? Most certainly!
We lunched at this restaurant and although the location is lovely, the service and food leave a lot to be desired. Service is very slow and not overly friendly, we felt like we were imposing on the waiting staff if we asked for anything. The food was ordinary, we were hoping for a lovely fresh seafood meal that stayed in our good memories for a long time ...... not to be. Even the wine was pretty average in quality. Lunch for two came to EUR 51.30 Beware, if you have a car make sure you purchase a parking ticket, we didn't even see the ticket machine and coped a parking fine while dining!

Cancale est l'endroit pour les fruits de mer - ma femme et moi sommes venus ici car il y avait une place de parking - ce qui est rare à Cancale. Nous étions vraiment contents - accueillis par un Maître D agréable et efficace et un excellent menu. Nous avons opté pour des huîtres suivies de moules, et elles étaient de la meilleure qualité que j'aie jamais eu (je vais en France depuis près de 50 ans) ! Le service était agréable et bon - le vin excellent et bien servi et la nourriture tout simplement la meilleure.
Ce prétendu restaurant est très bien placé avec une vue sur la baie et ce sera le seul point positif! La propreté laisse à désirer, le service est déplorable, les plats ne sont pas savoureux, l'attente est interminable, la fraîcheur des produits est douteuse et les prix sont exorbitants! La présence de mouches sur le buffet ne donne pas confiance et on vous annonce les plats disponibles sans vous donner la carte. Évitez et même fuyez!
fresh for fish and crustaceans and good reception with staff available. the cook makes the effort of presentation and by booking have had a table on the seaside (not counting the road of course) away from the brouha of the very busy port tonight. Appetizing desserts, I think an effort is made to read the previous comments.
J'ai testé il y a quelques mois un déjeuner en famille. La cuisine et le service étaient corrects mais sans plus. Le restaurant propose une formule de fruits de mer à volonté plutôt chère si l'on regarde les produits proposés. Le rapport qualité/prix est moyen mais le cadre et la vue sont agréables.

The view is beautiful! lunch facing the sea is very pleasant. about the kitchen, nothing extraordinary but correct. Have had a good time with friends. ratio quality average price.
Delicious food, nice ambience and very friendly staff. The fish special and the moules were delicious and I partcularly recommend the platter of deserts.
