Lotus Oriental Cuisine

Food was good but a bit expensive for chinese food lunch special. The menus they had in the lobby were old and did not reflect the actual price. So when she told me $10.50 for a lunch special with a subbed soda for an egg roll. I looked in the menu. Lunch special $6.95 and $1.85 for an egg roll. This was still less than the new lunch special price. They have a chef special general tso with an egg roll in the menu for $9. Food tasted above average. Price also above average.

If you are looking for no frills, really good American Chinese food (chicken w/ broccoli or lo mine...etc) in the Montclair/West Orange region, and do not want to pay an arm and a leg, that is your place. I grew up in New York City's Chinatown and found only a few places in the area. Hunan button is good, but probably costs twice what Lotus Oriental fees for comparable foods.

Eating is pretty good a few favorite things, but overall good taste, price is about the same as other similar restaurants in the area. They only take Venmo or Cashapp, which is actually very useful. I just wish they would make delivery, but understand why they didn't.

Spotless clean. Always delicious dishes, consistently prepared. Huge dumplings and portions are huge. In my opinion, the best Chinese in W Orange take out. I'm going to get 3 other exits to Lotus. Definitely worth the trip.

Lotus is the best place to get Chinese food in West orange. The chicken is great and their dumplings are a must have. They serve large portions for a good price. 10/10
