I believe this is due to the limited number of servers available to manage the tables. Additionally, there have been rare occasions when coffee refills take a long time, which can be a bit frustrating. Lastly, their weekly or weekend specials could use more variety. For our first visit to Lumes Brunch Cafe, we arrived to find a long line. We asked for a table for two but ended up waiting longer than groups of four who arrived after us. The food was delicious, and we highly recommend it, but there were a few drawbacks. My initial water glass was smeared with egg and potato residue, and when my order came out, I was given the wrong dish. The waitress was very kind and quickly brought the correct food, but it was frustrating to wait longer while my girlfriend already had her meal. Also, the syrup they serve tasted unusual—I couldn’t quite place what was different. There was an option to upgrade to real maple syrup for an extra $2.50, which felt a bit odd....
I'm not a local, but I popped in for brunch while in the area. The menu is excellent, offering great value with generous, truly American-sized portions! My server, Christian, was attentive and very friendly, and my meal arrived promptly—in about 10 minutes. I had the veggie skillet, pancakes, and a mimosa, with freshly squeezed orange juice. My wife and I have visited Lumes Brunch Cafe five times, and each experience has been fantastic in terms of both food and service. I have no complaints at all. It can get busy, which I assume is a sign of its quality. Like many restaurants today, they are short-staffed due to a lack of workers, but I believe the wait is definitely worth it. As for vegetarian choices, there are some great options available.

I enjoyed the Chicken Noodle Soup and Beet Salad. The homemade soup was fantastic; I would have preferred a bit more chicken, but the flavors were really good. Just ordered the biscuits and gravy. Took one bite and threw them out. The biscuits were fine, but the gravy was hands down the worst gravy I have ever tasted in my life. The only flavor to the gravy was overwhelming pepper.
Wow. What initially appeared to be an IHOP imitation turned out to be everything IHOP could only aspire to be. I would rate the food, atmosphere, and service a solid 5.0. DeAnna B was amazing!
