This place had great reviews so we decided to give it a try while in town visiting family. One of the reasons we chose it was for the burgers and they were out of burgers when we went to order. This can happen but it does lend to our disappointment. The catfish was not very good. It sure didn't seem like fresh made. It was flat, thin, and dark; just weird. The grilled chicken sandwich had great flavor but was very tough. The Italian beef was overly salty and just not tasty. The fries and onion rings were okay.... typical diner sides. The atmosphere was also typical diner, which we expected. Our server made sure to visit us several times and made sure our drinks were full. The food just wasn'...
This type of place is in my list of favorites not just for the great food but also the awesome service we receive every time we are there... I love the family-like/friends treatment we get and we are always full and happy when we leave... Thank you for being a Carbondale staple!!! Love you guys!
Outstanding food and service! I visited Mary Lou's Grill for the first time this weekend and only had a brief wait for a table, which went by quickly. The biscuits and gravy were the best I've ever tasted! The restaurant has a warm, family-run atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Classic, delicious food! You can order your favorite breakfast and even get complimentary cookies and gravy. It had been over 30 years since my last visit, and I'm happy to report that both the food and service are still exceptional. Don’t hesitate to go!
