I felt very uncomfortable the moment I walked in, as if I was being judged. I was with my fiancé, who is Hispanic, while I am Polish American. I requested a specific song to be played, but even after trying four times, they refused to play it. During our visit, there was an older man who made some racially charged comments during our conversation. He remarked that my fiancé's son didn't resemble him, even though it was obvious he did. He even said, "Thank God he doesn’t look like the father," referring to my fiancé. This man identified himself as Ukrainian American. Fortunately, there was one bartender who really brightened the mood. He doesn’t work every day, but he was fantastic!
I was just about to leave the bar with one sip of my Corona left when the owner unexpectedly got physical with me. I mentioned that I could finish my drink before leaving if it was a problem, but he responded aggressively for no reason, even wrestling me for my drink. This behavior was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional, especially for someone running a business. He clearly seemed inebriated, and it reflects poorly on the establishment. I'm seriously contemplating pressing charges over this incident. No one should ever put their hands on me over a sip of beer.
well the hand soap is awesome, the people here are like family, to the point where the baretender is my sister, but thats a different story. three bathrooms, two dart boards, two booths, and two high tops. if you go anywhere else in floral park consider yourself dumb. today i was there and they flew in dj mcdope from ireland with him and his laptop and hes killin it on the beats. i'll see you next tuesday.
This is a fantastic, authentic Irish dive bar located near Belmont Park. I love stopping by while I'm in town for the races. They serve excellent drinks and fresh Guinness.

A very cozy bar with a wonderful atmosphere. The patrons are friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
This is one of the best bars i have ever been to. The staff and ambience is impeccable. McCarthys is home.
