They said I need to call about 30 to 45 minutes before. And they said that there should not be a problem getting us a table, just call ahead. I ordered the western omelet with home fries and coffee. I was thinking of ordering the crab cakes Benedict and probably should have. My omelet was ok. It definitely needed more seasoning. My brother in law said the crab cakes were delicious. My nieces French toast and homemade Danish was amazing. For me, it was a solid 3. I love these type of little diners. If I return (I?m on vacation) I?m going to try something different.
I can't emphasize enough how amazing the service and food were at this restaurant. Last Sunday evening, I arrived in town with a film crew and discovered this place online. I called to inquire if they could prepare and deliver food for a large group, and they happily agreed. A short while later, our food was delivered. It's especially rewarding to support local businesses, and I highly recommend McLean Family Restaurant!
This was my first time to this restaurant for breakfast. Definitely worth the drive! Coffee was always full and couldn't ask for a better breakfast of two eggs over easy with grits and corned beef hash. Everything was great. I will be back for sure! I've been coming here since my parents took me as a young child in 1995, and I absolutely love it. This is the best diner I've ever visited. I'm so glad this place has survived the 2008 financial crisis and the challenges of the 2020 Covid pandemic. The restaurant feels like home to me, and you are definitely treated that way.
The restaurant is stunning and impeccably clean. It’s family-owned and offers a wide variety of options. The service is excellent, with friendly bilingual waitstaff. I tried the hot steak and cheese sub, and it was absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable for the quality, averaging around $12 to $14 per person.
Today, a few of us from a hiking group visited MFR. The service, prices, and food was great. We all enjoyed our dishes (meatloaf, Schinzel, pancakes, salads, and beef stew. I can't wait to dine here again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
