The staff are trained to be attentive but not pushy and the whole dining experience was lovely and relaxed. The Facilities This restaurant itself was clean and despite needing a bit of an update, it is very well maintained and smelled amazing from opening the lobby doors. Unfortunately the ladies toilets were disgusting. One toilet had overflowed and another was filthy. We had to wait a while to go in part way through our meal. We have been to the Miller and Carter in Aughton a number of times over the years and have always enjoyed a great meal at a reasonable price. Things did not start well when we saw a drainage contractor van on the car park and were told at the reception that the ladies toilets were out of use. Nothing was said about the temperature in the restaurant. The staff as always were friendly and efficient and our orders were taken in a timely manner. My steak came almost rare despite being ordered as medium and a further 10 minute wait ensued whilst it was re cooked. Despite a rocky beginning, we were met with exceptional hospitality, courtesy, and warmth by the incredibly professional Manager, Jaquie, and our server, Reanna, who went above and beyond to make sure our birthday celebration was perfect. The four of us had a fantastic evening, not only because of the delicious food, but also because of the overall experience. We left feeling very happy and satisfied. I ordered the butcher's block and it was delicious. However, the dessert was disappointing. I would recommend avoiding the crème brulé as they had difficulty caramelizing the sugar, resulting in a gritty texture. I suggest trying the Albert Dock or Parbold for a more enjoyable dining experience overall.

Went to the Miller and Carter for lunch. The last few times we have been there for Fish. It seems as though it’s just out of a packet and not fresh fish never used to be like that we went for my wife’s birthday in September 3 people had the fish and it was exactly the same.
We had excellent service from Reanna. We were impressed with the new fixed-price lunch menu and the main menu. The haddock fish cakes and spinach and Camembert Wellington were absolutely delicious. We highly recommend them. We will definitely be back soon!
What a lovely time we've had today at this venue. Lovely staff friendly, efficient and welcoming. Delicious food, very reasonable lunch time menu. Under £20 for 3 courses.
Sunday meal was great, nice server and nice food, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a treat meal
