I've been going to Mom's cafe for decades from my Family taking me to now me taking them and it's never been so lackluster. Ive been there twice in few months now. Once for my mums birthday and the other for a date night. Both times the food was okay, the menu is very appealing but the follow through wasn't there. *The fish & chips is almost always good though* & the wait times are reasonable. While staying at the Prestige Hotel my family stopped here for an early dinner. It was 5:30 pm and not very busy for a Thursday. The cafe itself had a 50's diner look inside, and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I was happy to see a wide variety of entrees on menu, but the meals we selected didn't have a lot of flavor. My wife ordered the meatloaf which was a bit dry and the brown gravy didn't have much taste. She also said the vegetables seemed to be microwaved frozen veggies. I ordered the Jambalaya which had chicken strips, shrimp, and sausage over rice with sliced bell peppers, but it also lacked any flavor. This humble gem allows you to step back in time. Enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast while sitting in a booth, listening to 50's tunes from the jukebox. The diary case at the cash register features a yummy variety of homemade pies! The mood is relaxed and laid back. Prices are decent and staff are friendly.

Breakfast was huge and there was many many choices on the menu. The atmosphere is diner and the plates of food huge. Delicious too but do not try to be low calorie here. The service is good and lots of humourous signage in the restaurant. They also have lunch and dinner ad all day breakfast. Réservez une table maintenant

We were a group of 4 ages early 20's to early 50's. We really enjoyed the food, the salmon chowder was delicious! Good variety of food, nice staff, good atmosphere. Would definitely eat there again if I were going back to the area. Definitely recommend eating here!

We drove from Victoria and it was worth it. We had an amazing breakfast before hitting the Sooke potholes. Be warned: portions are large. I had 2 college swimmers traveling with me and even they had trouble finishing!! We would definitely come again!

Good food and great service! Try the chocolate pie! Breakfast all day is a bonus too! Just off the beaten path in Sooke.
