Morton's The Steakhouse Houston Downtown

I have made several visits to this Morton's location, working in the building for several years. An exceptional restaurant experience and steakhouse for many years has unfortunately seen better days. The acquisition of Landry's at the end of 2011 has what excellent food service and product was marginalized. Regardless, you can still visit and expect an above-average high-end primary steakhouse experience, even though it wasn't exactly what it was once. I try to pick up on their prix fixed special offers when they are available (currently running a 3-course: salad/soup, Entree w/Special accompaniment, plus dessert for $36). Morton's is a bit of an icon for steak dinners in the downtown Houston area. Make no mistake the food is great. My fillet was perfectly cooked with a perfect amount of seasoning. The garlic green beans and the (unnamed) potato dish were equally yummy. The servers were very friendly. However, is it worth the prices? That depends. If you have no budget, then visit Morton's and enjoy the evening. You will get good food and service. If you want a great night out, but live in the 99% of the world where money is something you have to manage in a reasonable manner, there are other places that deliver food and service nearly that of Morton's but at a mere fraction of the cost.

Fabulous Date Night! My husband and I went to a special date. From the minute we went, we felt like all our employees had given us amazing attention. The food was absolutely delicious and they made a picture of us and gave it to us for Keepsake. So a stylish, tasty and welcoming restaurant!

Great food, great service. Reserving a table on opentable.com made no sense though. It said all the reservations were taken up so I had to pick a very early reservation at 4:45pm for dinner. The restaurant was still half empty at 7pm. Makes zero sense. Réservez une table maintenant

My wife made us reservations last night for our wedding anniversary. Our waiter, Casey was so great! He was very attentive and so friendly. The food was so delicious. Nearly everyone we encountered was so nice and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Had Dinner here to celebrate our 19th year wedding anniversary! The food was delicious and our server was very accommodating! Can’t wait for the next special occasion to celebrate here again!

Steak and Key Lime Pie! I had Filet Mignon and it's as good as expected. Key Lime Pie was also delicious. atmosphere was great and all employees were very friendly!

Great cut of beef. I had a wonderful piece of meat here, it was cooked correctly and had great flavor. Service was spot on even though the place was really busy. Réservez une table maintenant

Morton is brilliant everywhere, this in Huston is amazing!! It is a must in the city and around the corner of the ALAMO!!!! Fantastic!!!

Average mortons. Its nice but then it should be for that price! if downtown on a sunday i reckon this is the best bet
