This place is better than it used to be. The food is okay but the outside seating is very nice during the summer. The quality of the service is kind of mixed but liveable. The menu on their website is often not reflective of what they actually currently offer. I didn't go there for the longest time because it looked like there were no vegan burger options. They have the impossible burger and a significantly different menu from what they advertise online. Also, they have alcohol. It tastes the same everywhere so... whatever
We went in for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Not crowded at all so I’m still wondering why it took so long to get our food. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. The calamari salad was surprisingly good. It had a very fresh taste. The dressing they put on it is wonderful. I ordered buffalo wings. I ordered them very crispy. They came out not crispy at all, very disappointing. The wings were average at best. The next time we are in town, we will try somewhere else.
We sat down a few minutes after 9, and chose Mr. B’s because the kitchen is open late here. Ordered a burger and fries, and my buddy ordered salmon. The food is priced competitively for Royal Oak. Service was mediocre, it took a while to find someone to confirm we were to seat ourselves, waitress didn’t ask if we wanted drinks. The food was hot, though salmon had a weird corn and black bean salad. Go for the burgers
Quite good overall. Our HR manager had booked a private area for our holiday party, but when she arrived, the management at Mr. B's had assigned that space to another group. As a result, we ended up in a much smaller area and only had one server instead of the expected two. However, she did a commendable job given the circumstances. The food they served was excellent.
