I had high hopes. Passing through and recommended. Wait staff was nice and the place is a neat historical building. Prices seem fair too. I ordered a 8 oz filet medium and mashed. My steak was frankly disgusting, weird texture, impossible to cut in many places, like shoe leather in places. I think I cut a couple oz off to call dinner. If I was betting I would guess the mashed is instant. Picture is what is left of my steak after I cut off pieces to eat. The ones I could chew were flavorless. With the drastically rising restaurant prices combined with less than great service dining out can be less than satisfying. Our recent trip to Murphys was the exact opposite- from the friendly, efficient service, the huge portions, excellent food and reasonable prices! Murphys was the best dining experience we've had in a long time. We all over-ordered and had enough leftovers for another meal. We'll be back! Service: Dine in
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. I dined in for lunch, and my meal cost around $20–30 per person. I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well. I highly recommend trying the Fried Oysters, Ribeye Steak, and Baked Potato!
The chicken fried chicken and pinto beans were tasty. However, the baked potato could have used another 45 minutes in the oven, and the cream gravy had a consistency similar to wallpaper paste. Overall, I would rate the food a 4, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 3.
