Between us we ordered laksa, fried rice, dumplings, crackling pork, BBQ pork, lobster dumplings and crispy chicken.- dumplings were bland and watery - BBQ pork was delicious (came in a sauce)- crispy chicken wasn't crispy, but soggy and the ginger shallot sauce average- lobster dumplings were nice - crackling pork was great but they could only offer one portion as there was none left (we arrived at 7pm)- fried rice was average. Looking for a quick, simple dinner on a winter's night, and not wanting to venture too far from home, we stumbled on Orient Kitchen, with no great expectation. The little eatery was bustling with a lot of take-away client. We were given the menu quickly and hot tea followed. While the roast meats hanging in the window looked tempting, we decided to try something from the menu. We picked fillet steak in honey mustard sauce and stir fried squid in spicey sauce. What a disgusting thing to find! Do not eat here! The only thing worse than finding maggots in your food is the attitude of the guy behind the counter not really caring. They did give us a full refund but it did seem like this had happened before as he was very unconcerned with the hole situation. Avoid this place!
Was visiting Canberra and a friend of ours recommended this place. The restaurant is not too big but the food more than makes up for it. The roast pork and duck is a must try. Their Char Kway Teow is well done too. Portions are adequate and service prompt. A gem within a quiet neighbourhood.

We had lunch here on a Sunday. It was pretty standard Aussie-Chinese. The food was good quality without being anything special, and the portions were adequate size. Service was OK. I'm sure you could eat here anytime and rely on getting a decent meal. It just wasn't inspiring or special.
If you live in canberra or if your just visiting Orient Kitchen is the perfect chinese takeaway to have if you want to just sit in front of the tv and have a relaxing night
Traditional laksa full of flavour and ingredients. This restaurant is very generous in their servings and aims to leave you full and content. Easy parking and fast service.
Love this restaurant, it is usually our restaurant of choice for a Friday night treat. Love the honey king prawns and Char Koy Teow.

Excellent food and service. Small and cosy but not crowded. We celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. We will certainly be back
