Osteria Grotto Da Peo

A friend found this place. Don't know how but he did. When we got out of the car we had to hike up a long trail and back down in the dark. If I had spoken the local language I would have asked more questions about how they do business way up here. The food was average to good. The people were nice and on a beautiful night it is a perfect place to be. There are many restaurants in the region, this one is worth going to for the experience.

we stayed twice at osteria grotto da peo and it was one of our most authentic experiences. elisabetta, the owner and boss of the kitchen is a wonderful host and she is a master in her area. the food is really great and we enjoyed it very much. the way to the grotto is a kind of adventure, but it is really worth it. in 1000 restaurants, we can only recommend it. grazie elisabetta per questa bellissima esperienza!

This is a clear, sunny day. Route over Lago Maggiore. Fantastic view. Pretty decent food. Really a place outside. You can go. Some single track street, though not easy for a little bigger than a VW Golf or Mercedes A class. You can park below or above. In any case, there is a small walk. The reservation is recommended.

We hiked from Gruppaldo, which is about 1:30 hours with a 500m ascent on a sunny day: fantastic landscape, great food blueberry and Gorgonzola Risotto with funghi porcini, apricots in Grappa. The service was very good. And not to forget the local wines from Tamborini. We were glad to go down after our lunch. Réservez une table maintenant

This grotto is really something special and worth the drive up the hill. The food is delicious, service is attentive and the view is simply beautiful. Our only advice: bring enough cash with you as they don't accept cards! We can't wait to go back again.

Very good place with a wonderful view on the Lake Maggiore and on the Gambarogno. Great tipical entries, products of the region and typical food are well cooked.

Great views and tasty local food. This place is an institution. Try the blueberry risotto and don't be scared of the drive up.
