"For an old hotel, it's well kept. A good balance between old and new. Lifts are a little dated. They take forever, but I guess it's part of the experience. Rooms are quite big, and so are the bathrooms. Standard breakfast, to be honest, but all in all, a good stay."

Do Not Stay at This Hotel!!!! The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we checked in the system crashed and we were passed to another receptionist who clearly didn’t want to be there. No one explained about evening meals or any extras we could have paid for like the on-site pool and spa or restaurant. The only extra we did pay for was the room twice as they took our payment twice. As apparently in the small print they do this at weekends we arrived on Friday). Did get a complimentary breakfast though because of the hassle, the room had nowhere proper to plug in the kettle. Room reminded us of a room in a care home room didn’t have a window compact room). There was empty wine g...

Unfortunately, the restroom was tiny and filthy, with visible dirt around the taps, and what looked like either feces or blood smeared on the back of the door. The toilet paper dispenser was empty, and there was an open box of tissues on the sink, along with an empty box tossed on the windowsill. When I returned, my mom was still waiting, and we were still unattended. We even took the time to check the open appointment book on the desk to confirm our registration, which we found was indeed noted. There were also several products on display that we could have taken without any security in place. Finally, after another staff member walked past us, he returned to check whether we had an appoin...

We arrived to find no available parking. The receptionist seemed unsure of what she was doing. After a 6-hour drive, we learned that our booking made through Booking.com was supposedly nonexistent, despite having confirmation. We were offered a room that was smaller than what we had reserved, with no compensation or discount provided. We had no choice but to accept the room. Upon entering, we discovered that the double bed was the size of a single bed, and the kettle had to be placed on the floor. The elevators took ages to arrive, and when we pressed the button for our floor, the elevator went in the opposite direction. The information about gym and pool access times was incorrect, and we n...

The rooms are dated no air-conditioning and it can be pot luck if you get a large or small room. That said I have always been lucky and got a decent room with a view. Rooms are clean and beds are huge and comfy which is all you need really. GREAT location within Buxton PLEASE NOTE I booked this hotel through a corporate package through my work as it was one of the few hotels that provided free parking. or so I thought. This Hotel operates the DREADED Parkingeye company. Unfortunately although there was signs I didn't pick up on them and was not advised on check in to enter my car details into the tablet at the front desk. As a result my company has received £100 fine. I have e-mailed the hot... Réservez une table maintenant

The hotel building is stunning and the interior decor is beautiful. Even the ceilings are decorated. We found our room clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the bar area and the pianist really made a difference. One area that let it down though is the service from the staff. We were told nothing about breakfast when we checked in (thankfully we worked it out), there was no-one on the bar in the evening (which you would expect there to be on a Saturday night) and breakfast was a bit messy. The actual room isn't well laid out and we had to go around asking staff for cutlery/mugs. That wouldn't stop us going again but it needs addressing.

A truly superb hotel, perfectly located for Buxton and right next to the train station. Swimming pool and incredibly large, well equipped gym with stretch room. Huge rooms for weddings and large gatherings. A pianist in the foyer at weekends! Beautifully kept garden seating area, for those warm sunny days with a jug of pimms. Highly recommend a stay here, ideal for couples, singles, and families. The breakfast is delicious and efficient, as is all their food and good menu choices, great prices too! The decor throughout the whole hotel is absolutely breathtaking

Liked: The location was excellent. Close to train station, town centre and the dome Disliked · I am temporarily disabled and have limited mobility. The lift takes you to the 2nd floor where my room was at, but you still need to climb more staircases to get to the actual room, it was extremely frustrating going through all that pain to get to my room. Even from the entrance, I couldn't see a disability entrance or access. I understand that it's an old building, but I've stayed in similar hotels that had better facilities for folks with mobility issues.

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a standard room, which turned out to be quite nice. The room itself was good, although the window lock was broken, which was a bit worrying given that there was scaffolding outside. On the positive side, the food was excellent. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at a great price. Réservez une table maintenant

Enjoyable stay for 2 nights. Rooms could have been better, as the hotel was busy we had a tiny room in the basement, did ask for a change as i have mobility issues and there were narrow stairs to go down but no deal. Other than that good except parking was a bit of an issue with not enough spaces for all guests.
