We had to go to the Royal Melbourne Hospital but we found the car park full. It was by sheer chance that we parked in Morrah Street and walked past the Parkville Store on our back to the Hospital. After our visit to the Hospital we walked back to the car and called in for lunch.The staff were friendly and polite and for a small café the menu was good. We chose the Pizza of the day and a spicy wrap. The food was very tasty and the coffee great ( hot ). Great to see small cafes in residential areas like this. Would eat here again
This lovely little cafe has been consistently high in its standard of service and food for the last few years, plus the coffee is almost too easy to drink. If the weather is behaving itself, it's nice to sit outside and dog watch, otherwise it's very relaxing inside as you sit on an old church pew and listen to some soft jazz (which normally I hate) and wait for the amazing toasties, cinnamon scrolls, porridge, muesli and avocado smash to come out. Great staff, great location.
I asked for a large soy mocha. The lady said they only had one size, as most shops with one size have a medium, I said ok. I would expect that if the only size you have is tiny and I have ordered a large, you would notify me of the drastic difference in size to what I am ordering.I paid $6 and she handed me half a cup of hot wet dirt. The coffee was absolutely terrible and extremely expensive. Just moved to the area and will be heavily avoiding this establishment.
Great seating area. The staff were amazing. The only thing I can't get my head around is why the display cabinet has about three baked items of choice and the whole of the rest of the arrangement is dedicated to unappetizing lollies. Such a contradiction to the beautiful products you have on shelves and the food you serve. It kinda doesn't look right and instantly makes you reconsider when you walk in. Tasty cakes though but 4.50 for a cup of tea is way too much. Réservez une table maintenant
After exploring the surrounding neighborhood of beautiful 19th century houses, including the Wardlow Mansion which is used in the Miss Fisher Mysteries, I was tired and needed a cup of coffee. I found this place by sheer chance and good luck. They make excellent lattes and cappuccinos and their pastries were perfect accompaniments for me and my friends. Relaxed atmosphere and plenty of locals making good conversation.
Great breakfast delivered by friendly staff in what had to be described as an accidental 'find'. Located in the historic street of Parkville it was an easy walk from our art series hotel weekend stay and then on to Carlton to shop. Went by on the way back in the late afternoon and had another coffee.Highly recommend it.
