Came across this restaurant in the back streets of Sandy Bay, nice looking place advertising itself as a family restaurant which we were happy with for a relaxed after work dinner. Venue was a dark red walled room, red mood table lighting and in the middle of the room a water feature. A very enthusiastic waitress went meticulously through the specials, sprouting things about truffles and mussels etc etc in a really stilted way. We really didn't take much more in as it felt like we were watching a stage play with the scene set in a fine dining restaurant not a family friendly establishment. A good family oriented restaurant - Kids welcomed, friendly staff, feels like bit like home but i don't have to cook or clean up. ✔✔ A winner for me, especially since my lot loves pasta.
I can enjoy a non-pasta meal off the main menu. They do pasta platters where you choose a mixture of differnt pastas for a set cost. This is ideal for a family who after work want a quick & yummy feed. Though at the rate my kids eat, we would need more than the platter! For me, the highlights have been the main meals (fish of the day & veal special). The meals could be served hotter for adults. I was not blown with the pasta but kids certainly love it.

We booked for 7pm for 7 persons. One of our party was late, we had a drink waiting.There were about a half of the tables were occupied. When the missing guest turned up 30 minutes late. When the waiter turned up We ordered but the kitchen was busy, dealing with the clients who ordered before us. The meal was served at approximately 8.15pm. One of our parties didn't like the barn sized room, I didn't mind it, but it may be cold on a winter night. Scott the tall waiter, annoyed again the same person again.That person, one of our party , was not used to Italien restaurants, which are more friendly and not so 'sophisticated' or upmarket. I am more used to Italian restaurants.
Missing our movie we went in search of a meal and what a treat we found. Lovely clean restaurant with amazing food. Our favourite was the Sticky Date Pudding. I regard myself as a good judge when it comes to this sweet and OMG it was the best I'd ever eaten. Compliments to the young chef. Fresh homemade, taste and presentation superb! My husband couldn't rave anymore about the Chicken Liver entree, and for me the Ravioli with Pork and sage was fantastic too. All round great food. We went to Patria Della on our last night in Hobart and we're only sorry that we didn't discover this place sooner.The menu is extensive with an excellent wine list to match (BYO wine is accepted) and the pasts is freshly made. Their concept of allowing guests to select the pasta/sauce mix is a good choice and allows you much more freedom in what you want.But this is not just a pasta joint, it's much more than that and the remainder of the selections on the menu appear equally as good. Our dessert was first class and the host is friendly and helpful.Highly recommended.
We visited Patria Della Pasta recently while in Hobart visiting friends. It was our first time. What an incredible find. The menu has the traditional Italian dishes as well as new and varied dishes. Exceptional food and service. Desserts were amazing! Great location and intimate atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.
What a great find, just down the road from home too. Been meaning to go for months and finally got round to it, I said to my husband we have been missing out big time. New Italian for Sandy Bay. overall the food was impressive and the staff had a good knowledge of what the dishes were and how they were prepared and presentation was good also. Restaurant could do with a bit more heating for winter nights. Will definitely go back .

My husband and I have now eaten here twice. Have to say we are not disappointed entrees and main we're great and a generous serve, Homemade pasta a win win!!!! And service was back to the good old days where service is service highly recommend
we chose take away although it was tempting not to just eat in. very clean and well presented. Gnocchi is my husbands favourite and he really enjoyed it. We all chose Gnocchi great food
