terrible service. the worst service I've had for a long time. my partner and I ordered sandwiches and waited for mins to eat them on a weekday when only other tables were occupied. the waitress has stuffed our orders so my sandwich that I had asked to be done was wrong that I sent it back. they made their standard lachs sandwich roasted instead of the one my partner ordered (he ordered a salami sandwich undamaged). they went back to make it again and it came back with his sandwich right, but my sandwich was still the one on their menu instead of the one they ordered! and there had no tomato like I asked to take it back into the kitchen. so much for sandwiches....read more
Great Coffee, Amazing Food!!. This has to be the best day-time cafe in Sydney. I just moved into the area when a client of mine suggested meeting at this art-deco style cafe. I was impressed to say the least. Coffee was smooth and full-flavoured (far better than what most CBD cafe's have to offer), the waitress was energetic and fun and combined with the Bircher muesli, fruit and yoghurt I enjoyed, Pen provided me with the best possible start to my day Compliments to the staff! Highly recommended!!!
I work in Pyrmont so I have been to this cafe many times. Given there aren't many cafes in the area, the competition isn't rife. Despite this, service is un-attentive even though there are only tables and a few takeaway customers (oh wait, there are no waitresses in the morning) extra hot coffee is questionable, toast is either too light to burnt, wraps are too soggy. You used to be great Pen- don't rest on your laurels and pick up the game.
We had a meeting few days ago in there. We expected sumthing fabulous as same as the price. I order vege pattie salad, then I found a piece of SCOURER stucked in my mouth. I found the pattie was smell OFF. Was so disappointed and WON'T GO THERE again. Such a pricy food with very bad quality of food. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND people to have lunch at PEN! ! SUCH A FAILURE !!. The food is overpriced (charging too much for a bistro meal without table service), minute portions, Poached chicken salad arrived not resembling the menu at all and the chips were reheated soggy. I would never return to eat The refurb is great floor staff just busy talking to the chef ! Just wasting my time overall !!
