This beautiful home is steeped in history and is complemented by the incredibly welcoming host, Joel, who is dedicated to preserving its past. The bed was comfortable, and the spa was fantastic. We stayed in the Darling room, which boasted a stunning chandelier. Unexpected highlights included Manny the cat and the chickens! Although the horse was a bit nippy, it added to the charm of the place. As expected in a historic home, there were a few signs of wear, such as cracks in the ceiling, but that didn't bother us at all. Although we accidentally mixed up our booking and missed out on the spa room, we were very happy with our alternative accommodation. It was comfortable and lovely, with beautiful chandeliers and antique furniture. Joel kindly allowed us to see some of the other rooms, which were equally stunning.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed due to Covid, but we hope it will reopen soon so we can enjoy that as well. The breakfast we had was delightful and had a homely feel. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and Claremont House is conveniently located near restaurants and MONA!
One of the unexpected highlights was the presence of a friendly cat and a charming chicken! However, the horse was a bit of a letdown. As you would expect in a historic home, there were some minor imperfections, such as a small crack in the deck, but it didn't detract from our experience.
On the downside, the rain shower was difficult to set to the right water temperature, and one of the teaspoons was a bit sticky, with some old tea residue. Overall, it was an amazing stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves historic buildings rich in culture.

Claremont house was absolutely fabulous. An amazing experience, Joel could not have been more hospitable, it is a home of many stories . We take out hats off to Joel for the work he has put into this beautiful to keep its memories alive . I would highly recommend this place . All monies that are received in this home are put into the up keep of this amazing 1830's Heritage home. I will definitely be back .It's comfortable , beds are comfortable, clean, big . Just can't say anymore . I give it 10 stars here
We have enjoyed our 3 nights here. The room is spacious and the spa is just amazing. We loved the animals outside and the history behind the charm of this property. simply an absolute must remain! the being is a great example of a thoughtful use of an amazing building that allows access to an experience that is otherwise inaccessible. the tower room is the best hotel room for families where I had the pleasure to stay anywhere in the world!
