Recently, they introduced short ribs, which were fantastic at first, but during my last three orders, they were mostly just big chunks of fat with hardly any meat. This suggests they’re not preparing the meat properly. Additionally, tonight they served the creamy polenta on a separate dish, which upset me because I prefer it with the main dish. For appetizers, we ordered the toast and hummus, and both were wonderful. The hot honey on the toast was absolutely amazing, while the pita served with the hummus was soft, warm, and tasty.
For my main course, I had the Bolognese, which was delightful. My friends ordered the shrimp scampi and couldn't stop praising it for its hint of spice and perfect seasoning. I wish I had the chance to try one of their warm drinks, but it looks like I’ll just have to come back!
The ambiance was excellent—relaxed and not too loud, so while it wasn't a library, we could still enjoy our conversation without having to shout. Overall, it was a great night out, and I will definitely return.
I decided to visit this restaurant because my partner had been there before and recommended it, and I have no complaints at all. The menu is fairly simple, but everything is consistently good and you can tell that the dishes are prepared with care. The salmon benedict was delicious. I also enjoyed the hot toddy, which is made with aged rum and apple cider—definitely a seasonal treat. The ambiance is very charming as well. I would definitely return.
Great restaurant bar. The portions are very generous and the food is really good. I had the shakshuka that came on a bed of hummus and a lot of pita slices. The shakshuka is spiced with ras el hanut, which is usually used to spice meat in mediterraneancuisines so it was a bit weird, but good. Definitely not for everyone. The chicken and pancakes were also very good. They alsohave fun sneaky drinks, so you can drink without feeling judged lol

We visited this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday morning and had a great time! We sat outside with our dog, and the staff were very friendly towards him. We really enjoyed the biscuits. I particularly loved my croissant sandwich, but my girlfriend’s Eggs Benedict was overcooked. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience overall.
This place is in a great location with super friendly and attentive staff. However, we came for a brunch for four people and we were disappointed with the portion sizes. The Spanish hash was good flavor, but for $20+ you think you?d get more than onepoached egg on hash?
Mussels were out of this world. However the mains were not good! Probably the worst buttermilk chicken sandwich I’ve had! Batter was raw flour underneath! Love this place food used to be always top! But only a few dishes lately have been any good :
Is Ditmars a hidden gem? Absolutely! The food is outstanding, especially the mussels, and the service couldn't be better. This is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood that more people need to discover!
