Restaurant-Cafe Alte Welt

Nobody in the place Very unpleasant smell inside. Normally, that alone would have made us spin on our heels and leave, but we were really hungry. Large beers helped us ignore the smell. The main dishes arrived just bites into the salad....Cash only. Part of the Old World brand perhaps? Luckily, we had enough Euros between the two of us to pay for the meal. Positive sides: The Wienerschnitzel was pretty good. Interesting art on the walls. We cannot recommend this place, though. We will not be coming here again.

Alte Welt is just off the Hauptplatz, but you have to know where to look, through a stone arch; then you detect the scent of great food; and only then do you see the sign. Don't despair, it's great local food. Friendly service reasonable...prices. Note: CASH ONLY!! It doesn't say that in the guidebook, so just be aware.

The staff was super nice but it‘s hard to stomach the cigarette smell of this place. We were the only people there, still I had to burn my clothes after hours. Do they even have air filters? I‘m not sure.

There were only a few clients but we had to wait almost hour for a schnitzel and risoto and the food was bad.The wine also bad. You cannot pay with card, only cash.
