Not easy to find but through an archway on the right side at the end of the Hauptplatz as you look towards the river: any tram from the Hauptbahnhof will take you there for one euro. Pleasant waitress and the chef was in the UK...merchant navy. He's a good chef too and the menu is not too big but has a good spread and the plates are well filled! I had a mixed side salad, an excellent Wiener schnitzel, a chocolate soufflé dessert, a half litre of good beer, a glass of wine and a coffee for €25 and I call that good value. we only took two dishes and dessert. the kitchen is typical and we have taken meat: I a fettina in a sauce with sauerkraut and a dumpling of bread. My wife a schnitzel with boiled potatoes and blueberry jam. We both liked it. the dessert left me perplexed but I didn't even regret it. Menù in German and English. Nice location in the main square of the city. drinks: 0.5 beer at the plug and water. We spent 30€, I expected more so I add a star to the price quality ratio. Nice staff.
Was gut war, ist über die Jahre und Jahrzehnte hinweg gut geblieben. Die Küche ist irgendwo auf dem Weg in die Moderne steckengeblieben, was ihr bei der gebotenen Qualität Charme verleiht. Freundlich und schnell bedient wird man im traumhaft schönen Gastgarten, einer Oase der Ruhe unter dem prächtigen Ginkgo. Kübelbier und Schnitzeltest bestanden.... Einer zukünftigen Einkehrung steht nichts im Wege
