The chicken tofu with salted fish hotpot at Rice Pot Asian Cuisine is unexpectedly delightful. Even though it’s situated in a somewhat out-of-the-way location, the Cantonese dishes are genuinely authentic. The restaurant was empty when I visited, but thankfully, they offer outdoor seating which allowed me to savor my meal on a peaceful Saturday morning. The waitress consistently wears a mask and eye protection, prioritizing food safety. The service is outstanding, and like many places, this restaurant is facing challenges. I hope we can rally to support them, helping them to persevere through these tough times.
The food at Rice Pot Asian Cuisine is generally good. Service can be inconsistent at times, likely due to being short-staffed. The dining area is somewhat small, which can make seating a bit challenging. However, the staff is always friendly and genuinely tries their best to provide great service. The wine selection is very limited. I would recommend this spot more for a quick meal rather than for a special occasion. Enjoy!
Terrible service and the worst food I've ever had. The owner is rude. They lied about the takeout time, promising 20 minutes but I ended up waiting for an hour. The most frustrating part is that they make you pay upfront before informing you that your food will be delayed by 30 minutes. I spent $65 on one dish and all I received were some random leftover vegetables and stale fish.
The servers are kind and the place is overall well maintained. The food could be better tho. For example, the beef on the beef stew was overcooked, but the white radish was undercooked. Overall the food was a bit salty. To be fair, I just tried 3 dishes,so I can't say that the complete menu bad. Would I go again? Not sure, but definitely not for dinner time.

I think I've found another hidden gem in Cantonese cuisine at Rice Pot Asian Cuisine, situated at 4709 Backlick Rd, Annandale, VA 22003. I highly recommend exploring the menu and trying the Coconut Chicken and Pepper Salt Mantis Shrimp dishes. While there might be a wait for your food, I believe it's definitely worth it.

I really enjoyed the food. While the Beijing duck wasn't as crispy as it had been on my previous visits, it was still delightful. All the other dishes were fantastic!
