I had lived in Roanoke for over forty years and in those years ate the weenie stand, mostly downtown at least once a month. On this trip back to Roanoke, we went to the store downtown, only to find it temporarily closed. So, the next best alternative was to travel out to their Brandon Rd. location. My first surprise was that when my partner ordered coffee with cream, we were told no cream. She asked if milk was available. No milk either. Maybe my taste buds are not as efficient as they were when I was younger, but the chili on the hot dog was bland and tasteless. What a disappointment. I think I may have went on a bad day! Most of the time everything is fresh! Unfortunately I didn 't get good food or good service. One last thing...the man at the counter rolled his eyes at my friend..I don 't think he knew we were there together. I didn 't say anything because it would have upset my friend. However, now she knows!! Won 't be going back. Sorry ?
One hot dog and a sweet tea, $6.00 and change. Served up by what may have been the grouchiest server ever. Have been here so many times but I 'm done. A decent hot dog can be found at the CI with much friendlier service and a sheet ton less expensive. Hate to see this place go down hill so fast.
