Roots Steak House Ridgewood

Pleasant steak house on a pretty busy street in Ridgewood, NJ. I went in a night when they were busy with 2 big parties who obviously had much of the capacity of the kitchen, so there was a long delay in ordering, but I don't think it's worth keeping against the restaurant. My meal started with a hearty popover that arrived hot and wonderfully crispy. I ordered the French onion soup, which also arrived hot, but had partly spilled outside the crock, it was served on the saucer (shown in the picture). Our experience at Roots Steakhouse was amazing! First of all, our waitress Jennifer was great. She was super attentive, charismatic, professional and polite. She made great food and drinks recommendations and made sure to check in that everything was to our liking. The food was really delicious and the portions were a good size. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the desserts were mouth watering, especially the chocolate cake!! The service in the restaurant was very attentive also. I visited on a Saturday night. I had made a reservation, but noticed that they were also accepting walk-ins with a short wait. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive. This place is perfect for a romantic date night *wink, wink*. The kitchen is beautifully displayed, depending on where you are seated. The food was delicious, especially the meat dishes. I ordered the petite NY Strip Steak cooked medium (pictured in the photos). I will definitely be coming back for more delicious food and to make more wonderful memories.

The steak was buttery tender and delicious. We ordered a porterhouse for two medium. We got potatoes au gratin and supreme spinach on the side. The French onion soup for an appetizer was banging. Everything that we got was delicious and well done. Everything was also very well seasoned. The wait staff were incredible and although we didn't drink the bartender knew how to play the room. This restaurant is suitable for families. The food was tasty, and the dessert was also flavorful. However, the bartender was a bit loud, making it difficult for me to hear my dining companion who was sitting across from me. Despite this, we had a great overall experience.

Amazing food, drinks, and staff is great once you walk in the door. Alex hands down is the best bartender, makes your drinks correctly, if youre unsure what you want he recommends something to your liking. Fantastic experience coming here, and will be back!!!! 5/5 stars

The service at this restaurant was excellent. Despite it being extremely busy on Valentine's Day, our server took great care of us. I ordered the dry aged rib eye with peppercorn crust and it was delicious. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Obviously an amazing steak house but they also have great seafood platters. The place just has that great steak house feel and the servers are all top notch. I would definitely recommend, especially for special occasions Réservez une table maintenant
