Unfortunately, the pizzas arrived lukewarm, with undercooked crust, and the excessive grease on the cheese caused it to slide right off as soon as we tried to pick it up. I had requested smaller slices since we had several people, but instead, they were large and required two hands to separate.
Overall, I find it hard to reconcile what I experienced with the praise I’ve heard about this place being the best pizza in the area. It feels like a backhanded compliment to me—almost pitying for this little suburban pizzeria. It seems like a hit-or-miss situation, and I suspect that dining in with a beer might yield a better experience. Unfortunately, I just happened to have a disappointing one.
I order from here simply to get a slice of the famous New York aka Brooklyn based Junior’s Cheesecake. Specifically I like the devil’s food cheesecake. Simply delicious and thanks to Rubinio’s I no longer need to order an entire cheesecake from Brooklyn and can now just order a slice or two locally when I have the craving for a taste of home.
