Food was decent, we had a table of 8 and they messed up one of the orders which was ok. There was also a 3% charge if you do not pay with cash which was also ok as we had cash. The part that got me is the handwritten receipt.. you can see here that it is very difficult to read. We didn’t notice at the time but the total was $159 and then it jumped to $185 so the waiter gave himself a $26 tip. This is common for a large party except for he failed to mentioned this and it was not listed anywhere on the messy receipt so we ended up double tipping. When we first got the check, I asked about splitting the bill and the server acted like it was going to be a lot of work (I think so we don’t notice...
Initially stopped by old Town Monrovia to have breakfast at Cafe de Olla but was very busy and glad we did otherwise we would not have found this GEM of a restaurant. We were promptly greeted and taken to a booth where our order was taken in no time at all. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! The 3 of us agreed that the food was prepared authentically by a experienced chef. Usually you find the food is good and the sides not so much but to our delight everything was as my daughter says, scrumptious. We definitely left w a big smile on our faces and bellies content and will stop by again to try something new on their menu ? ??
my friend and I came to this restaurant and were seated quite fast. we were given our drinks and both ordered Are meals without an appetizer. My friend had a **** Mary and said it was pretty good. The chips were good but the salsa was kind of running very chunky. Also the tables don't give a lot of room for bigger people So that was a little uncomfortable. The restaurant is clean and wheelchair accessible. I did enjoy my meal I had shrimp and it was very well done.
my huevos rancheros were tasteless. my son ordered a chili colorado burrito, but became a Colorado Burrito that had all these vegetables in it, so there was nothing similar to chili colorado. When my son brought this to their attention, they did not even offer to exchange them. the beans and rice were decent, however, and I enjoyed the free chips and salsa.
Not enough start to rate tis place. Staff is wonderful, and treat you like family (the ones you like and that like you back, not the anoying relatives), prices are fair, and quality of the food is spectacular. Not strong recommendation goes to my go to favorite the Beef El Gigante Burrito. This turned into my family Sunday lunch spot.
Not really sure what is the best dish. Definitely not the chicken tacos. I got 2 soft tacos for $16 ridiculous price. The chicken was terrible, I picked up the taco and it fell apart. Worst money spent. How do you make a wet soggy taco and the chicken is dry. Ridiculous never coming here again. Not worth a star.. worth -5 stars.
Loved it. Food was high quality and delicious. A friend of mine said he didn't care too much for the food when he visited last year. That was definitely not our experience. The food and service were both great when we visited. No complaints. We will definitely be returning.
