We were really disappointed with the food nothing like it was previously. Pretty mediocre lots of dishes in total) not available on Saturday night. Food was very basic and presentation dated. The meat was however well cooked. The focus on game now...replaced with a middle of the road menu but at high end prices. Wine very over priced and overall nothing in this experience was anything but average apart from the service that was attentive and professional. We had the blood orange salad which was ok but the duck rillett tasteless served with a chunk of bread and over powering chutney. it was my first time to settle and what a wonderful experience it was. also the winter gardenable for pre-lunch cocktails. eating was divine and so generous portions. the drinks were all perfect and I tried a few of. the service was impeccable and so friendly. many thanks for my friends birthday dessert very attentive and a surprise for all of us. unfortunately I didn't catch our waiter name, but our order number was when that helps. the first visit to the rules was recommended to us, I was impressed by the greeting about entering our day and visit. we sat on the back of the restaurant in a good location, we had no appetizers, I was delighted. to see the steak and nierenpudding, this was presented very nicely, my wife chose the fish cake,both mains were excellent. to follow naturally the standard of the service was excellent, give this an attempt, we will certainly be back next time in london
thanks to the rules for another delicious lunch. the cauliflower soup with mushles was from this world. the venison was exceptionally delicate and tasty. finished with the golden sirup sponge very recommended. with an excellent pinot noir washed off. all served with...spectacular understatement through a conciliatory professionalism of andrè. I am looking forward to my next visit.

We have eaten at Rules several times, but this was our first Sunday lunch experience. The waiter was absolutely excellent. The beef and lamb roasts were good but not exceptional, the potatoes were under seasoned. The steak and kidney pudding was delicious. We had to...ask for salt and pepper. I love this restaurant and look forward to coming back.
