We roamed Hobart harbour looking for a nice Restaurant (not hard to do) but at a reasonable price? It was our last night and frankly was fed up of having to pay for overpriced food. Just as we gave up and decided to buy food at coles and cook at the hotel we passed Saffron Indian Restaurant; lovely food and at fair prices too. We had a really nice time here and found the staff to be very pleasant and attentive. I would go back to Saffron again - IF we ever find ourselves in Hobart habour
Was a good pick for dinner for our family of six. Conveniently located in the dock area of Hobart we were able to get in and out of the restaurant quite quickly after picking an early time slot. The food was hearty without being particularly memorable. It came out reasonably quickly after ordering so no real complaints on that front. Would recommend The Saffron for those wanting an Indian feed without any frills or hassles.
On a very cold evening, we and a number of other patrons remained well wrapped-up, there appearing to be no heating in the restaurant. My observations to the staff on this subject were ignored. The prawn pakora and the vegetable pakora starters were average. The prawns in particular were battered and deep-fried but lacked any ethnic flavour. The chicken vindaloo was quite good but our overall experience was forgettable.
we liked the beautiful orange chairs with simple decor in restaurant. as usual I had malai kofta and my partner had aloo gobhi with saffron rices. both were very delicious. service was fast, we didn't have to wait long to get our meals. the personal was attentive and attentive, ask them if everything was good. we finished our meal with pistachios ulfi, which was also great, homemade ice came in cubes. I had dinner here with my partner and his parents and the staff were so helpful with catering to my vegan diet. They carefully pointed out what was and wasn't vegan on the menu. Excellent Indian food!
surprised with the rating almost went somewhere different, glad I didn't. the food was delicious, good portion sizes. personal very friendly and attentive. let them try the evaluation in any case.
Lovely Indian restaurant on the harbour front. Food excellent and service exceptional. A great alternative to the plethora of seafood restaurants

We had Samosas, Paneer Makhani, with Laccha Partha. Everything was excellent and served by the very nice staff.
