Shoebox provided several days’ worth of morning tea, lunches and afternoon teas for a series of meetings I was at, so I didn’t actually visit the site.A brilliant variety every day. Fruit (melon, kiwi etc) and nuts. Olives, cheeses, and crackers. Croissants. Sushi. Wraps. It was all paid for by the meeting so I can’t comment on value but the quality and taste were top level. One day we had rice paper wraps with cold noodles inside. A colleague and I were really lucky that several others ignored these because we each ate a dozen or so for morning tea. Also, I have to know: What was the cheese with a crumbly look and creamy texture? I gobbled handfuls. Our gluten free person never seemed hungr...
I rarely write reviews.. but this is necessary. I had never heard of this cafe until I thankfully decided on a tofu sesame wrap at the winter feast (dark mofo) last year. I then visited the cafe to see if they were as good as I remembered. Each time I've been back to shoebox cafe since they have been equally as delicious every time. I can honestly say this is my absolute favourite lunch time treat. If you are a meat eater they also have different meat options. Do yourself a favour and go experience one of these delicious sesame wraps. You will not be disappointed and you're welcome in advance. Thank you for this heavenly creation guys!! Keep up the delicious work.
Great coffee! Tasty food! Good value! Charming service! What's not to like? This is obviously a fave among locals if the regular stream of walk-ins is anything to go by.....even drive-ins, as people pull up outside and dash in for a coffee. The food is delicious too - always crisp salads and fresh ingredients - and an interesting menu with daily specials as well as a few stalwarts. The seating is limited, though, so get in early if you want a seat at the table and be prepared to share!
Quaint corner café, stools to sit on around the café or nearby seating in open area. Grabbed a coffee, bit slow in making but was worth the wait. Food options were good, no your average salad sandwich, however did provide the ever popular meat pie. cakes, slices and sliders, all quite yummy. price a bit more than expected but most seem happy to pay when on the run.... Toilets nearby and definitely accessible for wheelchairs. Very friendly staff.

I've wandered by this cafe often and this morning decided to try a takeaway coffee and check the place out. It's a nice, quirky little space with a welcoming atmosphere. Lots of tempting yummies on display, but I was only there for a caffeine hit. The brew was delicious and served at a perfect temperature. At $3.80 for a small flat white, price is on a par with most of Hobart's coffee shops. Staffed by friendly, tattooed chicks :)
I live in Hobart and go out of my way to get coffee (I drink a soy FW) from Shoebox. Absolutely delectable coffee! I also love their tofu sesame wraps. The wrap is a delicious rich sort of chewy sesame bread that I can't explain. You'll just have to try it! Favourite place to get a coffee on the run. They also have a place in Centrepoint now too so that's handy.
This stop was a relaxing spot for morning coffee. Coffee was excellent and service solid. The Shoebox seems to have a second outlet in Centrepoint but we visited the Elizabeth St outlet
This was a great find as we walked through the mall, it's not big but they pack a lot in! The coffee is amazing and the slices top off a quick snack. Worth finding!

Cher amour l'emballage de poulet épicé. Sooooooo bon. A pris un peu sur la table pour venir, mais la peine d'attendre! Reviens à Tassie!
