We chose this restaurant as an option C, as we were on our way to the airport and the other two restaurants were closed. We arrived and a few customers were eating, the staff told us they were opening soon...yet two tables had people seated and eating? The food was average, nothing special, and a tad on the greasy side. When we were going to pay, we expected to pay for two adults, and two children. They charged us the price for four adults. Our kids are 12 and 9. I asked how old children have to be for child pricing, as maybe our 12 year old could be considered an adult (but shouldn't). Instead of getting a straight answer the owner asked me how old my daughter was. I said 9. She said adult...
Took a buddy there for dinner earlier this week-his first time. I described the place as having a small'ish buffet BUT good quality meats and veggies and decent price. buffet includes small fountain pop, small salad bar and small selection of dishes. that night some things that were especially great!BBQ pork (great quality--not fatty at all)spicy calamarilarge prawns with veggiesTaxes in for 2 was $36--well worth the money.They also have a rice crispy square w/ peanut butter in it and topped off in chocolate and other things (imagine a nanaimo bar rice crispy)--delicious!Have been to other buffets w/ mediocre meat / food quality, bland tasting--this is well worth the visit.
We went to Sidney BC, and became hungry on the early evening, so we decided to go to the relatively new CHINESE EATERY at Beacon Avenue. Luckily we got seats, although a busload of Asian Tourists were checking in as well at the same time. The buffet was reasonably good tasting, and there was quite a variety of different foods available. Unfortunately there were only about 1 - 2 portions available per choice, and with so many people flocking in you had to go 3 - 4 times to get that what you wanted, even if it was only one sample of this dish you wanted. So that was a bit disappointing. Otherwise the personnel was friendly, and fast.
The folks here are very friendly and continue to fill dishes on the buffet with fresh food. They do have regular service and take out as well as the buffet, but we had the dinner buffet for $15.95 There were quite a few deep fried items, some with typical heavy batter, and too many items including pork for my taste but my husband liked it.The beef and broccoli was fresh and terrific. There was also prawns and squid, ginger beef and chow mien. The cold case had a couple desserts, some green salad and fruit. Soda drinks and Chinese tea was included. Réservez une table maintenant
I came here for lunch with my grandma, who is always on the hunt for good Chinese. Nothing is particularly outstanding but the price is fair and there's a decent number of dishes to choose from at the buffet. The staff were friendly and efficient and it's a fairly large restaurant so we were seated quickly. However, buses of tourist groups also come here so don't be surprised if it gets busy quickly! It might not be my restaurant of choice in Sidney but I would happily come again if whoever I was dining with wanted to go.
This is a good buffet. Actually, it's a great one! The staff have a sense of humour and are entertaining. The selection is excellent, and the flavours both contrast and blend beautifully. There was quite a crowd there, but the food kept coming, and as soon as I went back for more, the dirty dishes magically disappeared.We'll be back when we're in town. :)
