We were in PEC for two nights and went to the large Slickers location on both days; the ice cream is totally amazing and we couldn't resist. It was our first time traveling in the area and we were with friends who had been many times before and loved it. The flavours and quality was off the charts. However, one of the two women working there during both of our visits was unpleasant. The first time, she was not especially friendly and rushed us along. The second time, she was actually rude. We didn't bother confronting her at the time but we didn't make a secret of the fact that we all noticed her bad attitude. Spent the weekend at Sandbanks provincial park and made the drive out to Slickers 3 days in a row. Definitely a busy place. Lots of great and interesting ice cream flavours. Apple Pie and Chocolate with Jack Daniels was a win. We also had the taco sundae which was really tasty as well. Be prepared for a lineup in the evening hours but definitely worth the wait. Prices were very reasonable compared to other artisan ice cream places.
Timing is everything regarding lineups for locally made, gorgeous ice cream from Slickers! Today there were 3 counterpersons slinging ice cream, and no lineup (when we were there). Chose rhubarb-ginger, and it was marvellous!!! Not too sweet nor sour, hint of ginger but no 'bite'. Friend had lemon chiffon and reported it was very good. Variety of cones or dishes for different needs/tastes.
As I am quite the ice cream aficionado, simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to try Slickers. It was wonderful, creamy and just the right temperature. I've tasted a few, i.e. Ben & Jerry's in Vermont, Cow's in Prince Edward Island, Ripples in Montreal and must say that Slickers really comes out on top! Réservez une table maintenant
Hands down, this is the BEST ice cream we've ever had, and we've had a lot of it! This place is over 4 hours from my house, but I know we'll be back. If you're ever in the area, you've got to try it! I had the coconut chocolate chip, and hubby had the jazz berry. We were both super happy :)
Slicker is a very busy location in Bloomfield and we went to give it another try; but it was unanimous decision not to return. Some unusual flavours and lots to choose from but the servings are smaller than what you'd get elsewhere. Not one of the five of us were thrilled with our treat.
