I was coming from an appointment in Newtown square on a bus heading back into Philly, buses running on delays.. I got off just to be able to use the gift card I won worth $25. I went in and told the girl at counter who was very nice I might ad, that I had a gift card and wanted to order the lobster ravioli and a cappuccino gelato which came to $25.02 .. I don't have money , waiting on disability review, she said fine .. it's 2 cents.. but the owner comes out and tells me that the tax has to be paid in cash.. OUTRAGEOUS!! I won that gift card through Delaware county magazine and why the tax couldn't be included in the charge is absurd especially since owner had to be the one who is providing gift cards to the paper and your trying to drive business and you pull something like that? So the tax was something like $1.25 and you couldn't be a descent human and let me get food instead turned me away.. mind you it's 90 degrees out and I waited 45 minutes for a bus home. Just for context I have health issues and I have no income, I reside with my 82 yr old mom and am on government aid and winning this gift card was going to be a nice treat because I can't afford to go out to eat.. I was/ am highly disappointed that you turned me away for a dollar and some change and now I'd rather not even try your food. Bad business. I think I'll see if I can sell the gift card for less and I'll use elsewhere. Especially since I had to pay an Xtra fare for absolutely nothing. Thanks for nothing!
