First, our server saved the day. She was a queen and held it together with class because pookie (instagram reference/hubby) was about to explode in fury. He had planned to take me to Uchi because I absolutely love sushi but figured they were going to be too busy and if you know it's almost elbow to elbow in that restaurant. We got to Soto at around 9 pm (reservation time) and confused as to why couples were waiting outside. Come to find out that they all too had reservations and were asked to wait another 30 35 minutes. From talking to other couples, they have been waiting for longer. Pookie decided to stay and wait it out in the car. After about 35 minutes he went back inside to check but t...

Wow, in rereading our review from almost seven years ago, we kind of have to say that we nailed it. This place has not changed one bit--except now there is more paint chipped off the walls and their omakase has increased in price. We came here for one reason and one reason only: we have friends who live in Cedar Park who wanted to go. The decor is still tacky (the lighting by the bar looks like in belongs on the Vegas strip . They do carry one of our favorite beers (Nest white ale , so that is a plus, and the apps were decent. The green salad was a basic bae, but she was good to get some veggies in. The brussels were also good even if we'll never understand the use Japanese-goat cheese conne...

Tried the Soto on South Lamar and wasn't impressed so I wanted to give this other location a shot. Oh I'm definitely glad I did! On to the food: Miso Chilean Sea Bass This is definitely a complex dish that brings joy to my taste buds. The outside of the fish is nice and crunchy but the inside meat is soft, flaky and fresh. Also not going to lie, the side of rice is just amazing. It's very fluffy, with just enough of a sticky texture to make it perfect. Top all this with their slightly sweet flavorful sauce and to me, this dish is a legend in my book. Soto Sushi Roll This roll leaves more to be desired. I'm a bit disappointed in that the fish doesn't have much taste to it and there was a larg...

Came in for my birthday dinner! We got a reservation at 7:45pm and technically didn't need it since there were some tables open. Our waiter was Sean, and he was so accommodating. We told him that we had 2 hard of hearing people, and he did his best to make sure we could hear him. Had to ask him to repeat things a couple of times because there were some very loud people near us. He was very patient with us! Loved everything about Sean. He was very energetic to talk about the food and the different alcohol they have. If he didn't know, he asked the bartenders. I ended up asking about 2 different wines. He was able to get samples of them for me. Whoopee!! The food was great. I basically took a... Réservez une table maintenant

Looking to learn about sake (an area in which I'm quite uninformed)? Want some outstanding sushi? The answer to both is Soto's. I visited Austin to see family and the total solar eclipse, but honestly, Soto's ended up being the highlight of the trip. Sorry, Austin—while you have your charms, cloudy weather isn't great for viewing the eclipse. On the other hand, Soto's is fantastic for expertly crafted sushi and a sake education. Our server, who was also our sake sommelier, was fantastic. He had us sample three different sakes, each with its own unique flavor profile. One of them was absolutely outstanding. I loved it. So, sign me up: David ASS (A Sake Sampler).

WOW. This place was awesome. My husband took me here for a celebration this place was nothing less than amazing. The presentation of the food was so cool our server was helpful since this was our first time. We got this salmon that was lit on fire or something it was really cool also delicious. The inside of restaurant was an experience as well, I kinda felt like we were in a fancy cave (in the best way lol). Definitely somewhere I suggest experiencing because it's really neat the food is delicious.

The food and drinks were incredibly delicious and exceptional! The prices are very reasonable given the high quality of the meals! My husband and I discovered the Cedar Park location, and we must say that the quality closely rivals that of top-notch restaurants in Japan! We are truly in love with this place!

Soto is an absolute gem! The sushi is truly amazing, and the Brussel sprouts... out of this world. Make sure to try them along with their rolls. It's a spot I can't get enough of! Réservez une table maintenant
