"The ambiance was great and service was not bad but the food was just average for the price. We ordered pastas and none of them wow us. The waiter did recommend an Alois Kracher dessert wine that was fun to try! I love noble rot wines. This place is fun for the historical and hype factor and used to be in 20 years ago but I wouldn 't come back. Out of all the celebrity restaurant empires, I would say this is slightly worse than Nobu."

Haven't been to Spago since their facelift and I'm so happy some things never change. Spago is still the overall number one restaurant in all of Los Angeles. First, the ambiance: The new look is updated but not overdone and the feeling in the dining room and the garden is still very much warm, cozy and elegant. The Food: Pure perfection from start to finish!! We opted to go with the tasting menu $240 per person) along with some choice wines throughout the meal a full wine pairing is also available). Every single item in the tasting menu ranged from very good to amazing. The fact that this kitchen crew can execute a regular a-la-carte menu, along with a separate tasting menu to such perfectio...

What I once considered my favorite restaurant has become a caricature of itself. The eye popping prices set a tone of disbelief to start $30-40 cocktails, a $26 bread basket , appetizers starting close to $40.... and sadly nothing in the meal makes you want to return or feel you haven 't been culinarily and financially violated. They trot out a few of Pucks tired signature dishes like smoked salmon pizza and weinershnitzel: both bland and holding nothing of the vitality or comfort these dishes did 10-20 years ago. Waiters are tripping over themselves to handle a table with a visiting chef, but are nowhere to be found to clear dishes or clean up your table between courses. Our $38 melon salad...

Spago remains one of my favorite spots to celebrate a special occasion. It is a classic with a great sense for style and elegance and obviously outstanding and creative dishes. There has not been anything that was not a great pleasure for both eyes and taste buds. And it will be selected for future occasions again. PREVIOUS REVIEW Still a dream of a dining place after so many years and one that sets a very high benchmark. Spago combines classy style with a nonetheless relaxed and charming atmosphere promoted by staff of all ranks. But let's not forget: we really go there for the unparalleled food a festival of creativity, beautiful arrangements and an astonishing fullness of various flavors....

Went for my bday dinner with my boyfriend. We sat on the patio, which was cute. Very well trained staff, with a sommelier to keep your wine glass timely filled. I've been wanting to go for awhile, but honestly wasn't super impressed. The crispy ginger cone hand roll spicy tuna was good, the cone was this crispy candied ginger goodness. The spicy tuna was delicious. The truffle pasta was good. But it was a little too creamy and lacking depth in flavor. The sea bass left me wanting more. It was good but nothing special. I think I liked the sides more. The steak and truffle fries were good too. But again, nothing amazing. Got the chocolate cake thingy. It had different flavors and it was good.... It had been a long while since I went to Spago but last night I was reminded why it remains one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, even to this day. After being greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome, we were shown to the perfect table on the restaurant's enchanting patio. The evening ensued flawlessly thanks to the professionalism and genuine enthusiasm of our expert entourage Eric, Wine Director Matt, and server Leal. The cuisine was exquisite, the wine pairings were spot on, and the service, impeccable. To top it off, we enjoyed a delightful exchange with Barbara who passionately insisted that we conclude our meal with Kasserschmarm for dessert. She was right it was superb! Spago...

Spago is pure excellence. Food, service, legacy. It's worth coming for a special occasion I came for my 41st birthday, and they surprised me with a complimentary and festive dessert. Drinks and dinner were top notch Los Angeles fare. My only nits to pick are probably impossible to solve I wanted a Spago matchbook, but they only offer books of toothpicks, and since it was both the tail end of covid and summer, we were seated in a tent like structure outside, rather than inside the actual restaurant. I used to be acquainted with a gentleman who had a wall plaque from the restaurant commemorating his 1000th visit to Spago. I will never achieve that, but even my one visit was a memory of a lifet...

Spago pairs white hot chic atmosphere with exceptional food, adding professional service without pretense or arrogance. You 're in a fancy (ultra expensive) restaurant, but servers are down to earth and guide newbies through the menu without the exasperated exhale practiced at similar establishments. Enter and walk through a traditional bar that was peaceful when I attended, a handful of regulars holding court with an affable bartender. I went with work colleagues, which blunted the pain associated with fairly hefty prices. But, as our elders say, for money you get honey, and Spago delivers where it counts: quality food. I had bits of numerous dishes but the duck was particularly special.

What a fantastic dinner at Spago. Love the ambiance and décor. Typical of what you would expect with fine dining. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We had a Friday evening reservation for two. After a cocktail each, we started with the Munak Ranch Heirloom Tomatoes. Tomatoes were perfection and full of flavor. I especially loved my main course, which was the Singaporean Style Black Pepper Branzino. Not only was the fish full of amazing flavors, but the sides were also just as amazing. The vegetable stir-fry was lovely and went well with the Branzino. Parking isn't great in Beverly Hills, but for dinner you can always park in the public garages. Makes things so much easier. Spago Beverly Hills is an unforgettable dining experience! The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting, perfect for a special occasion. The service was impeccable--attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel truly welcomed. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, from the beautifully plated appetizers to the perfectly prepared main courses. The attention to detail in both flavor and presentation was outstanding. For a refined dining experience with exceptional food and service, Spago deserves every one of its five stars!
