We usually get our sponge cakes from the bakery across the street, but this time we decided to try something different for comparison. We ordered a dozen of their original sponge cakes, and they surpassed our expectations—they were light, perfectly shaped, and absolutely delicious. They pair wonderfully with coffee and are definitely larger than what we're used to.

These are the most delightful sponge cakes I've ever tried, and they're quite affordable as well! I really wish I could visit this place every day! You simply have to try the black sesame and pandan coconut flavors. The cake with sprinkles was a tad too sweet for my taste, but if you like sweeter treats, it might be perfect for you!

I'm really glad we had the opportunity to visit this restaurant during my trip to NYC a few months ago! The sponge cakes were incredibly soft and tasty, and I appreciated the wide range of flavor options. Additionally, the prices were very reasonable! I will definitely make sure to come back the next time I'm in New York City.

The purple yam was exceptionally moist, and I really enjoyed the Thai tea blended with condensed milk. The pandan flavor is delicate, but there are small bits of pandan incorporated in it. Be sure to stop by before the prices go up—it's $1 for the original, and everything else is $1.25. Plus, the large Thai tea is only $4! Réservez une table maintenant

We arrived near the end of the day, so many of the flavors were already sold out. However, we had the chance to try the purple yam, and it was absolutely amazing, which I expected! The prices were quite reasonable, and the taste was delightful. Even my companion, who isn't a huge dessert lover, really enjoyed it.

The owner used to work at the restaurant across the street, and I'm so excited that he decided to open his own establishment! The classic and flavored sponge cakes are consistently exceptional; my favorite is the black sesame, while my girlfriend adored the Thai tea. The Thai iced tea was equally delightful!

We visited Spongies as part of a food tour through Little Italy and Chinatown, and we absolutely adored it! The holiday-flavored sponge cake was delightful, and it paired perfectly with the Thai tea. The staff was incredibly friendly, which really enhanced our overall experience!

This is one of my favorite spots for sponge cakes in New York! The original flavor is just $1, and the flavored ones are only $1.25. My personal favorites are the Thai Tea and Matcha flavors; both are incredibly tasty and budget-friendly! They also offer drinks for just $4. Réservez une table maintenant

Fernando honed his Hong Kong sponge cake baking skills at the original Kam Hing and has since opened his own charming and inviting café, where guests can savor a range of delightful sponge cake flavors. It’s no surprise that it has become a popular stop on Chinatown tours!
