We come here maybe once a month because it’s convenient in Sherwood park. The sushi is okay, nothing spectacular but not bad either. Our service is almost always, consistently poor. It always takes forever to get service. Another long period til drinks arrive. Another long period til food arrives. The staff is friendly. But something is not right with the kitchen or organization, that there are service issues every time we visit. On our most recent visit, they were bringing out dishes as hoc, and we got an appetizer after a mai dish. Another appetizer never arrived. Let me explain. When Sumo Sumo first opened the service was first class... now it's like that of a walk in take away. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, waiter kept coming back and explaining be right back be right back. You could completely tell he was running off his feet because of the amount of tables he had. This set the pattern for the rest of the night. Menus are falling apart, over all just going downhill. Quite sad.
So tasty and lovely! The patio is a beautiful environment and the restaurant has cute entry doors, bamboo walls waterfalls etc. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for a sushi bar. I highly recommend any of the boat meals/sharing plates. Staff is great and really helpful. There is plenty of parking available on site, and there is accessible seating in the restaurant (if required). We will definitely be back.
I went here for lunch and ordered chicken spring rolls and Mango vingerette salad. It was so good I went back the next night and ordered the same thing. Food was fresh. Both waiters I had were very friendly and delivered the food quickly. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
We ordered take-out although we've eaten in the restaurant on prior occasions. My husband loves their sushi and always has the salmon and the eel. The only dish I feel they don't do well is the tempura so we no longer order it. Our order was ready on time and tasted great.
