Wow, what a splendid way to spend an afternoon over lunch. The service was perfect blend of welcoming, friendly and discreet. We love how the food is sourced locally whenever possible, and there is serious magic being made with blends of flavors and textures in each plate. Each selection was perfectly as described, with a little twist of unexpected, beautifully balanced flavor. Hint: get the broccoli side salad! Crisp broccoli, pickled onion and crunchy toasted puffed black rice - we were hooked! Nothing boring about this place - food, wine or view. If you visit Kangaroo Island, get off the ferry and head straight here! Thank you Sunset!
Where do I start?! We were lucky enough to be staying walking distance from the restaurant so went for a drink before dinner to watch the sunset which was a fantastic start to a lovely dinner. We chose the "feed me" option so had a selection of the food on offer. All the dishes where fantastic with our favourite being the Barramundi, but to be fair it was a hard choice to make given the quality of every dish!The wine recommendations where great as was the espresso martini!Cannot recommend this place highly enough and, if we get back to KI, will most definitely be back.Thanks guys for a great evening.
We had lunch here and we're left so very satisfied. About an hour from Kingscote, close to Penashaw this place is a must when visiting Kangaroo Island. With spectacular views right across the bay, you're eating great food with great views. We had the tomato as a starter & it was the definition of quality produce done amazingly with simple flavours. We then had the braised lamb shoulder which was equally superb. The winners of our meal however were the two sides of carrots & broccoli. I'll stop trying to describe it all and just say - go there & you'll know how worth it a visit it is!
Our family have dined on several occasions at Sunset Food & Wine and each time has been a cracker!! There is an emphasis on the fresh local produce of Kangaroo Island and also a great local wine selection. The menu changes regularly with the seasonal produce... There's always something new and delicious on the go..I applaud Jack & Vanessa for bringing such an outstanding dining experience to our beautiful seaside town of Penneshaw...**** brilliant!!!

Stopped in for lunch. Really worth the effort of getting to. The staff are friendly, the view awesome and the food really is everything they win their awards for. This is an excellent dining experience. Make sure to check the back of the menu to see which part of the island your meal comes from!
Exquisite all around! We had an afternoon surprise delight! The most fabulous view, extraordinary cheese plate and excellent wine glasses. Don't miss this place but plan ahead for limited days and hours open so you won't miss! Don't miss this beautiful Kangaroo Island restaurant!
We enjoyed the Express Lunch option the the verandah on a glorious sunny day. Being only a view minutes from the ferry terminal, it was a great way to start our KI adventure. Staff were very pleasant.
Great service and overall very good food but the gnocchi was a little hard and tasted like mini roast potatoes. Despite that our experience was most enjoyable and we would go back in the future.
