There was no apology, no offer to make it right, and no suggestion of just taking $4 instead. I even had to propose using the tip jar's change or getting a couple of extra plantains, but she simply said no! In the end, I ended up being shorted 5 cents. There was no effort to accommodate my request or even offer an apology. The service was disappointing, which is why I avoid certain places. I've already found a better chicken spot—it's not hard to do in this city. Food: 3, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 2.
The portions at this restaurant are plenty and quite affordable. The pork jerky is incredibly tasty, with a nice spicy kick, and the fried chicken offers a unique twist that sets it apart from traditional American fried chicken, making it quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, the girl at the counter wasn't very helpful or clear in her explanations, which was disappointing. It's also peculiar that even dine-in meals are served in take-out boxes, which suggests a lack of attention to creating a pleasant dining experience. Nonetheless, the quality and generous portion sizes of the food certainly deserve a five-star rating.
I believe the only item on this plate that might be genuinely fresh is the goat meat—though I have my doubts about that as well. The rice is excessively mushy, suggesting it was likely just reheated from the previous night, and the cabbage is poorly done, appearing as if it was hastily chopped and barely warmed for a minute. While the presentation, portion size, and aroma are attractive, the overall preparation is lacking. To make matters worse, it took an eternity for us to receive our to-go orders. I can confidently say I won't be returning to this restaurant.
I dined at this restaurant for the first time over the weekend and had a wonderful experience. The chicken and goat combo was absolutely delicious, and the portion size was quite generous. The woman at the counter on Saturday was extremely polite and respectful, which I genuinely appreciated. She had a cheerful demeanor that added to the experience. Furthermore, the wait time for the food was quite reasonable.

I consistently enjoy my dining experiences at this restaurant. I typically order the oxtails, while my husband prefers the curry chicken and goat. Although I live quite a distance away and can’t visit every week, I make it a priority to stop by whenever I'm in the area. The portion sizes tend to fluctuate from day to day, which is somewhat disappointing because of the inconsistency. However, I have to say that they serve the best oxtails I've tasted so far! I paid $19 for four pieces. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t appear to prioritize customer service, and they also ran out of cabbage during my visit.
