I went to this restaurant tonight. When I arrived, I was informed that they had run out of meat at the carvery. I had to flag down a server to place our order as we were being ignored. We ordered starters, mains, and drinks. The starters took a while to arrive but were okay. We waited a long time for our mains. When I inquired at the bar, I was told that they were still being prepared and would be ready in a couple of minutes. After waiting for 10 more minutes with no food in sight, I asked again and was told that they were still being plated. Fed up with the wait, we decided to leave. We will not be coming back. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Last time I was here just after covid I said I would not return. Well here we are again and no imrovement. I have to say service was ok as girl did her best covering a number of tables. I had the steak pie. Expected it to be in some sort of dish but the pie could have been bought out of any baker shop or butchers and it was not particularly good. Came out of a microwave I suspect. My wife had a baked potato with tuna mayo and no butter . Still looking for the mayo. Was completely dry and overcooked. Our grandson had the mac n cheese and seemed to like it. My wife and I both tasted it and thought it horribe. I was right first time and won't be back.

From the moment you receive a warm welcome, the staff are so attentive throughout. The restaurant was warm and comfortable with spotless toilets. The Carvery Chef was friendly and the food hot and tasty ie two roasts and a large array of vegetables with the trade mark huge Yorkshires. The waitresses were never intrusive and very helpful. We had the regular carvery then apple crumble and custard, a Pepsi and a latte which came to only £24 due to the welcome 30% off offer.Only the lack of limitless colas disappointed. There was ample parking and a play are for infants.A vegetarian menu was available. The disabled were well catered for.We will return.

Visited with my friend yesterday as we haven't been for a while and both opted for the carvery as we both love a roast dinner. As usual there was a huge amount of food (didn't eat for the rest of the day! our only complaint regarding the food that was it wasn't the hottest, more on the lukewarm side, but it was all cooked and still tasted nice. Wasn't too busy during our visit so staff were attentive and keeping up with clearing the tables as soon as they were vacated. A good visit having not been since before Covid. The initial impression given by the waitress was unprofessional and unpleasant. When I asked for water, she responded in a sarcastic manner. After finishing our meal, she asked if we wanted dessert and when I declined, she sarcastically repeated my response. When I addressed her behavior, she suggested she would try to be nicer next time. This lack of customer service etiquette made myself and my boyfriend feel uncomfortable. However, the food was delicious and the woman carving the meat was friendly and welcoming.

Disappointed, had to send my hunters chicken back to the kitchen no bbq sauce, chicken was dry and tough, only things on the plate were fries, half of a warm tomato and of course the incomplete hunters chicken! Dish was replaces and the only positive thing I can say is that it was at least edible! The other person in my party had the mixed grill which was ordered medium the sausages were black and the steak was dry and tough! Well below your usual standard, very disappointing! Click

Sweet Chestnut seems to have new management, and I have to say, it's made a big difference. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic, the service was faultless, and we thoroughly enjoyed the carvery and coffees. The dog-friendly area was perfect for our furry friend, and he was given special attention with complimentary water and food. Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch and great value for money.

A9 M90 is not well served when it comes to stopping for rest breaks. This place is just off the motorway and lets you get a proper bite to eat. Playpark for the kids and dog friendly as well. Food is exactly as you'd expect for Marston's, decent quality and generous portions. All makes for a nicer place to stop than many of the alternatives. Réservez une table maintenant

We both had one of the day specials, a curry which was very good. However, I was a bit disappointed that the drinks offered with it did not have a 0 alcohol option beer/lager/cider. Given the location everybody virtually had to have a driver in their group.
