The food itself is a tiny bit above average but it got an extra star from me for the generous servings. There is also free soup, water and chilli/sauces you can choose from. Quite a good deal. For a joke we said you could order the $2 chicken rice and have much of the free soup with it! Actually not a bad deal for someone who is very poor or tight on money. When I was there I got Hainanese Chicken rice which was on special for $6.80 can't complain, the rice was good and chicken wasn't too bad. The place is packed crowded for lunch. You chose what you want to eat, you pay and they allocate you a table. You help yourself to cuttlery, sauces, a very watery broth and room temperature water. The portions are big I give them that but the quality is poor. The BBQ pork's fat was rancid, which is strange for a restaurant which such a high turnover. Price wise it's very good with many meat dishes with riceor noodles at $9.50. With so many eateries around the place I will chose something else next time. Not in a big hurry to go back.
Visited first time. Decor was simple but place was crowded, very unlike the previous restaurant. Customers were mostly, if not all Asians. Definitely a sign of good food. Atmosphere was great and reminded me of restaurants back at home. Food was reasonably priced, with good portions and tasty. You can help yourself to free soup and chilli. Oversll, a very pleasant suprise. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Reasonable price. Ordered BBQ Pork Rice, Duck Noodle and Bean curd. Bbq pork was delicious. So was the noodle. Meat portions were slightly less than other outlets but noodle and rice were okay. Friendly staffs, complimentary water and soup. Overall, definitely returning as price considered cheap within Perth's suburbs.

We shopped at the huge shopping mall and got hungry by had lunch there. Mainly Malaysian cuisine. Ate noodles with roast pork and spring rolls. Taste was good, noodles well done, not too soggy. Free chilly must try, their sambal (dark red paste), superb!...Price wise, reasonable.
Having been born in Malaysia, I always miss home-cooked food, but Tai Son has been satisfying our cravings with dishes that remind me of home. I have never been disappointed with their food. The service is always friendly and efficient.
Friendly staff but the food is terrible. The staff are friendly but you have to get up and get your own cutlery. I wanted to like it but it was rather disappointing. What a pity.
The food is average. The roast pork that comes with the noodles was disappointing - tiny pieces with no crackles. Not going back to this restaurant in hurry.
