Being up in Holland Landing today made me think of the last time we were here and ate at Tatlow's. Reminded me that perhaps it's time to plan a night out with the wife and take her back for our favorite dish their, the salmon!Tatlow's is in a small plaza (3 or 4 stores) right on Queensville Sdrd in Holland Landing. Chef there does amazing things with food a and EVERYTHING he cooks tastes delicious! Burgers are great! I was in Tatlow's on 3/23/17. To be totally honest I'm a bit hesitant to provide this review because I want to keep this little gem to myself! It's a tiny little place and the other reviewers don't lie - fills up quick! Doesn't look like anything special from the outside and decor is dated, but it's ok! The food is sooooo yummy! The wife and I passed by many times and both thought that it was time to check it out . Honestly had driven by this establishment several times and had not noticed it before, however after a fellow worker mentioned how good the food was, we decided to try it.First impressions are deceiving, let's say it is a bit worn down, however, upon arriving we were directed to a booth and the waitress kindly hug up our coat. Where else do they do that.The waitress was very personable and answered all of our questions about the menu (it being our first time there). I ordered the omelette brunch, 3 eggs, sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, red pepper and spinach, with home fries and toast.Everything was fresh, cooked as per my request and served hot. We decided to try out Tatlows tonight and we were extremely happy that we did. The restaurant is small and quaint, friendly service and the food was amazing. I had the Potato, broccoli cheddar soup which was made to order and to die for!! My husband had the Veal parm which he was very impressed with. All homemade. I highly recommend the crab cakes I could only get through one but now I have lunch for tomorrow my daughter had the perogies and loved them too. We will definitely be back.
A small, quaint, diamond in the ruff!! Well not so much ruff at all, but this places is definitely a diamond! I've had wonderful service coming in for breakfast or dinner, the owner/chef takes great pride in his cooking and it shows! My favourite dish, the butternut squash ravioli is heaven. So glad we found this place because we are surely becoming regulars.
