Stopped off at the blue boar on way home from work late on a Tuesday evening ,walked through the door to be greeted by a lovely young lady with a big smile behind the bar and some rather friendly regulars at the bar , ordered a beer which I have to be honest was in pristine condition and tasted delicious. Visiting family in eye, my wife and decided on a drink on this pub, it 's a drinkers pub quite clearly with a big screen TV. That 's not the issue. We were sat at a table and noticed the entertainment being set up very close by, I said to my wife I expect we will have to move very shortly A bars staff approached from my left shoulder and said you need to move Not excuse me, or anything that was polite or words to that effect, absolutely rude, both my wife and I are military so can take all sort but they actually annoyed us, whilst leaving I had the added pleasure of a table corner being moved hit me in the hip. My wife and stopped off here on the way to Lincoln, for a quick bite. A typical old style pub, with character. The Licencee was behind the Bar, and greeted us warmly.My wife had a Panini and I had a Ploughmans, good and reasonably priced, and more importantly filling. I was also pleased to see that they had Hobgoblin ale there on tap, which is from a small Brewery in Oxfordshire, and a nice bitter. I thought the best touch was when we left, the Licencee in saying goodbye said Have a Safe Journey

My friend and I popped in after a long walk and had the most amazing Sunday Lunch. I had lamb shank and she had roast beef. Both were perfectly cooked and came with beautiful crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, swede and carrot mash, cauliflower and broccoli cheese and red cabbage. Excellent value and delicious. I have dined at this restaurant several times with my girlfriend. We especially liked the ploughman's lunch. The bar staff and local patrons were friendly. We always make sure to stop by for a pint when we're in the area.

We regularly take our children as they are so very family friendly, have a good beer garden with play equipment and do reasonably priced food. As a couple we go to see bands there. Highly recommended.

This woman was incredibly attentive and friendly. Hats off to the Blue Boar for hiring such fantastic staff and providing top-notch service. I was very impressed.

I went to this restaurant just for a drink, and that's really all it's good for. Once you arrive and order a drink, there's not much else to it.

The food was hot and tasted great panini and chips a nice pint as well very welcoming staff would definitely recommend lovely atmosphere
