A lovely, old country pub that retains all it 's character with great service and friendly staff. It has a really good selection of drinks and the food menu had enough to choose from, but it 's another old country pub that 's been ruined by the fad that seems to be sweeping the nation of turning old pubs into 'gastro ' pubs. Unfortunately for me, the food doesn 't go with the surroundings. If you are going to retain the character of an old local/ farmers pub, then I 'd liked to be served wholesome, home cooked style food. It was nice enough, though not for the prices being charged. For starters we had the hummus, which came in a large dish with enough to share between 2, which was very tasty...

Amazing food, had the steak and ale pie-best I think I’ve ever had EVER! My partner had the fish and chips, the fish was stunning and really tasty! Would highly recommended as a lovely venue also and excellent atmosphere… will definitely return! :

Great cosy traditional pub and restaurant. Food was beautiful with good table service. Must recommend the dessert lemon cheesecake, raspberry sorbet with scattered fresh raspberries. Divine
