Though I thought the trio of fish served with fresh seasonal veg and new potatoes would be nice, it was horrendous, probably the worse meal I’ve eaten since being last in Hosptial, one of the trio was past it’s best, tasted off. The vegetables were awful, mushy brown broccoli, pre sliced carrots from bookers (like you’d get at a Toby carvery) and the new potatoes were almost old ones they were huge and dry. The whole dish was extremely dry and bland. Dry white fish, with dry vegetables and dry potatoes. It was also served in a bowl which made eating the fish difficult- should have been on a flat plate. We are locals and never visiting this place again. This is our second visit to this restaurant and the service was so slow each time. First time food took well over 1 hour and 30 minutes with only two other tables booked and my friends were very cross with the slow service. Then we came again which took well over an hour and for food to arrive after basic bread starter and restaurant not even busy. No communication from staff to relay any information. The manager was argumentative, very rude and very defensive and didn’t want to hear anything against his opinion plus he didn’t want the rest of the staff to hear our opinion so spoke to us outside and shut the door on them so they couldn’t spe...

We picked Butchers Bistro from an Internet search having arrived in Newquay that day and not knowing the area at all. I phoned to make a booking and when we arrived we had the most wonderful warm welcome from, it turned out later, the owner. Everything was just right great atmosphere, nice decor, friendly and efficient service and delicious food beautifully cooked and presented with careful attention to detail. A really great place.

Amazing food and service! Cannot recommended this restaurant enough. The waiter was so attentive and made us feel so welcome the whole time we were there and nothing ever seemed too much. The prawns were so fresh and yummy, the steak was cooked perfectly and was amazing quality. We shared the cheesecake special which was salted caramel and this was also fantastic. I would definitely return the next time I’m in Newquay.
First time visit tonight at the Butchers Bistro. We visited off spec and didn't book. Absolutely no problem fitting us in, although it did fill up while we were eating. The first thing is the absolutely friendly service by our young waitress. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. I can't rate this little bistro highly enough. My mother who is 80 loved it as did George my son. We will definitely be visiting again.
Dined with my partner and our small dog in September. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, steak was great peppercorn sauce was out of this world! Price was super reasonable for the quality, chef clearly knows how to cook a steak. Personally I’d have preferred slightly better veg served with the steak but would I return? In a heart beat! Thanks for looking after us so well :
Having eaten here before we decided to eat here again on New Year's eve, and we were not disappointed. The food (seafood and steak) was absolutely fabulous, the service was attentive and friendly, but we were not rushed. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a special meal then look no further.

I was there for my birthday and it was an excellent place to celebrate. The food was amazing, loving cooked by Emma and presented to us by the friendly and professional Debbie and Bernadette. Great value for money and incredible seafood. I would recommend this place for all those visiting Newquay.
