Drove 30 minutes for my party of four. I frequent this restaurant. Service was absolutely terrible. Had empty drinks the entire time. Had to ask other staff for service and refills. Ordered appetizers and entrees. Waited incredibly too long for food. Food was edible but that’s about all I would say. Complained to assistant manager next day and was offered to be emailed a gift card.I saifd I would stop by to pick it up the next day. ELVIN the assistant manager suggested this to me. The next day when I was unable to leave work to get to the restaurant, which is again 30 minutes away, I contacted Elvin only to receive an almost entirely different demeanor. The live music was excellent! The food was delicious! The server, Cheryl F, was unprofessional, kept leaning over my head (with my head damn near in her armpit), tossing our utensils condiments on the table (when we finally received them, after we sat with our food for minutes). She argued with us about ordering a lemonade we know we didn’t order, because my better half is allergic to lemons then snatched the ticket when we asked her to remove the lemonade from the check! She definitely needs training in customer service server protocol.
The food was average, but the coffee was quite good. I ordered the southern grits while my sister had the huevos rancheros. The grits were creamy and satisfying, but the bacon was too soft for my taste. I'd suggest skipping the toasted, unbuttered hoagie bottoms as well. Also, avoid anything with guacamole; it's pre-made and not very pleasant. The huevos rancheros came with salsa instead of pico de gallo, and there wasn't a hint of cilantro to be found.
The staff at this restaurant is outstanding—quick and incredibly friendly. The food is fantastic; my favorite sandwich is the neo-classical. Their fries are perfectly thin and crispy, just how I like them. And the cake? Simply amazing! The cocktails are great too. I absolutely love this place. While parking right in front can be a bit challenging at times, there's a gravel lot at the start of the street that makes it easier. Réservez une table maintenant
I was very disappointed with my meal at The Cafe. We both ordered the smothered baked chicken. It is described as baked chicken with parmesan sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. When it came to the table it was one big fairly tasteless blob. In addition it was a salt bomb. It certainly sounded better than it turned out to be.
