Popped in last week to get a GF pasty and was told that I had to order in advance in the morning (which I completely understand! Fancied a pasty today so phoned up just after 9. ‘Option 3’ was the cafe and so I left a message requesting one and leaving contact details. I was phoned back really quickly by a helpful lady who said that the message had come through to the packing warehouse! She kindly enquired as to whether I could order a pasty for lunch but came back to me to tell me that they were too busy... makes me wonder just how early I need to order them if the cafe only opens at 0830!!! Good customer service from the individual but makes me wonder why they advertise specific GF options...
I bought the meat box for a, not inexpensive, £75. This was mainly based on the £40 beef offering from Kitto's. The lesser offerings of chicken and pork were good but the beef was dreadful. Chewy, too much gristle and all soooo tough. The only inhabitant of my house, who wants me to buy again is the dog! I've put this complaint to the owner who told me how fantastic Kittos are ....so I'm a liar or delusional ?. Despite saying they would forward my complaint I've had no feedback from them. Truely, the worst beef we have ever eaten. Don't get sucked into thinking that buying Cornish is the way to go when you are paying your hard earned for such abysmal quality.
We decided to goto the Cornish Food Box for breakfast as we had heard good things. How disappointed we were, overpriced, dry bacon, watery mushrooms, no sausage all for £10. The worst bit was seeing a rat, yes a RAT running across the cafe floor. This was witnessed by another customer. According to food standards the place should have been shut and food stopped being served, the staff carried on and said they would call pest control. I appreciate it’s a busy Saturday, but the amount of food they sell and the fact is was right by the children’s play area we won’t be back or will be buying anything again from the Cornish Food Box.
The food delivery service is AMAZING. Staff goes above and beyond helping customers getting the boxes no matter how remotely they are located. The produce is incredible: as tasty and authentic as it can get. The portions especially the veggie fruit boxes are very generous. Meat is the best ever tried. It’s a shame the nationwide delivery is a bit pricey otherwise I would get it in London every week. But it’s an absolute MUST for me when I am in Cornwall. You’ll be crazy not to try it.

We visit regularly to buy local food produce in the shop and eat the delicious food in the cafe. This is an ethical local business that strives to deliver fresh local produce both in the cafe and in their shop. The prices are very reasonable for this standard of quality produce. We will definitely be back again soon for some tasty treats.
This place is nicely tucked away. It generally seemed very tired with not much attention to making the ambience feel welcoming. The menu was very limited, but what we had was very good, and well presented; although to much cheese and not enough meat meat, but that is just a personal taste. It was certainly very filling!
Always excellent food coffee with a great space for children to play they even provide toys!! The cafe specialises in locally sourced food, supporting farmers growers in the area. The shop at the front is well stocked they clearly make a lot of effort to make the whole space inviting vibrant.
We visited the Cafe today and had a Great breakfast we were Attended to by friendly and attentive staff. The warm farm rustic decor was unique and a lovely shop with great Cornish produce too. The next time I’m in TRURO I WIll BE BACK !! Great job

Lovely cafe in the heart of Truro. Friendly staff, lovely food using entirely local produce. Family friendly with nice little area for the kids. Farm shop attached is fantastic for gifts or essentials.
Great food, quick service with really friendly Staff. The kids play area and accessible Toilets With baby change makes it a must for families when visiting Truro . We will make this our regular !
